I'm a fanboy and the title says it all.

Not only does this movie surpass my every expectation, make up for the disappointing Spirits Within and animated series , but it also sets new standards by which video game battle choreography should be done. This movie is stunning. There is nothing that is not top notch in this movie IMHO.

One again , best video game movie ever. Even better than House of the dead.... super mar.... well lets say Mortal Kombat 1.

it cant be better then the streetfighter 2 animation. that had everything anyone could ever want.

    chunli vs vega

    ryu vs fei long

    sagat vs ryu

and lets not forget the amazing 'ken, what do you see before your fist' old master line. classic.

but il check advent children out anyway.

and I'm no fan of the FF series but I really enjoyed this movie. Great action scenes.

Reminded me of how I felt the first time I saw Akira in the theater.

The movie was 100% fanservice that just made me laugh. It was just so over the top. Barretts redundant spinning turret spinning turret spinning turret gun, almost took me to the floor. Dual wielding swords that are bigger than you, not to mention they transform. 4 wheeled motorcycles, double bladed katanas etc etc. . .

Also when cloud had to jump up to kill the weapon and all the characters gave him a boost, those girls can run up a building faster than cloud can jump . . . wtf ??? Vincent also gets a larger role in this movie, when he was only an optional character in FF7, Its like a big shiny button that says "Ask me about Dirge of Cerebus (tm)?"

Well i guess i enjoyed the movie since i had really really low expectations for it, maybe except for the overly androgenous males. I dont recommend it to anyone who hasnt beaten FF7 though.

eeerrrrr that sounds about right. I pretty much felt the same way. The movie is fucking great. I have seen it 2 times already and will probably watch it again this coming weekend with a close friend of mines. I recommend it to all. Even to people who have never played FF7. I really do hope this movie does set a new standard in action movies in general. Both animated and live action. Yea it was over the top stuff, but it was great over the top stuff. It was no different than all the over the top crap in the Matrix trilogy and I loved those movies too. I will definitely buy this when it comes state side. Both the DVD and UMD for PSP.

hehe best 3D Animation movie ever. Beats all the others from the likes of disney etc hands down.

I had my doubts about this movie but they executed it all very well. I loved every lil moment that came from the game itself such as the ring tone part. Action scenes were just totally CRAZY!. They're almost as mad as the cut scenes from Devil May Cry 3. I did think the movie was a bit fast tho, I mean the scenes just whizzed by too quickly sometimes.

Characters looked great rendered in 3D rather than the usual block style we knew them as, lol. The nice lil suprise of the great Sephiroth's return. Didn't expect it to be honest.

Definatly gonna get the DVD version of it. This movie is great for the fans who've played and completed the game. It is a fanboy movie cos I don't think other ppl will understand what the hell is happening without playing the game beforehand. The movie also makes ya wanna go out and find a copy of the original game and play it again. I know I want to.

I thought the animation was fantastic...the amt of time involved in creating such a feature film is truly insane...esp after hear what my buddy alex told me (regarding the time involved in creating something as small as a 3 sec CG clip)

Shame though, to see a majority of the cast reduced to mere 2nd stringers.

    Fantastic soundtrack to boot.

    Getting DVD for sure.

yah the animation was fantastic. I'm into the whole 3D rendering business as I'm taking a course on it. Man, rendering 15 frames per second takes agggggges, specially in high res. Infact I even heard that adding HDR technology to the scene will take one frame about 5 hours and thats on a fast server PC.

    that's what he told me..depending on what u're working with..one frame...can sometimes take 10 hrs...imagine...98 mins feature film....insane.

Ran into a copy at a music store and bought for less than an america buck, hehe. Just got done watching it with my friend, but despite on what was written on the back of the cover, there was no english. Had to rely on the chinese subtitles, understood most of it but will later translate the parts that I did not understand to fully get the meaning. It was interesting trying to explain to my friend what I felt while watching the movie, as he had never played the any game of the series (I showed him my FF6 rom though, lol). I believe it is a movie that only final fantasy fans can fully appreciate.

    Just amazing.

Ok, I might sound stupid, but I'm used to it by now.
I'm interested in this, I want to know if it is available to buy on PAL format yet?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I live in a back-water town in the middle of nowhere, so I'm outta touch.
