Sega took out the ability to save individual fighter profiles to a memory card on PS2 in Evo. So it was kind of funky taking your stats and fighter somewhere else to play.

Does anybody know whether they will add it back in VF5?

For example being able to transfer an individual fighter profile to a memory stick

Does anybody know whether Sega what sega will do with the fighter profile stats in the console version?

Will they be presented like in VF4, or EVO, or something totally different?

    That would be bad.,

Some of the public VF action uses consoles. If the players could bring their own memory sticks and load up their fighter that would speed things up and also be useful for saving stats.

That would really be a step back if they don't have individual profile files.

yeah kind of sucks, the reasoning sega had was it would affect arcade revenue in Japan (yeah right like vf4 ps2 ever did ¬_¬)
Anways just need confirmation on whether profiles are saved to a system file then we can all weep /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

Even if it is saved to a system file they still could've messed around a bit internally.

Let's start running around the country with USB sticks. Everybody else is doing it, so why can't we? (Cranberries!)

The other thing that was somewhat useful was the stats of your most recent fights that would be saved with the profile.

If you just faced 6 or 7 opponents then your performance for evades, throws, high attacks, low attacks etc, was recorded and saved in the profile.

We somtimes used this information in a point system for certain kinds of tournaments.

We lost all of that in EVO and was hoping it would come back in VF5

Maybe its not too late for Sega to add it if they've taken it out.

It seems like from the recent hands on review posted on gamestop that the vf.tv feature on the console might let us
take individual profiles to other machines.

vf.tv has nothing to do with profiles.

Gamestop doesn't have a review on it, and the Gamespot review doesn't mention anything about the character profiles...

Do you have a link to the webpage with that info? I'm interested in reading it.

vf.tv is simply replay mode from evo, and it's no online enabled. You can't save profiles onto memcards nor are they transferable.

That's what the Gamespot review says, more or less. I'm wondering what masterpo is talking about.

I read that whole article, and it really didn't say anything about it. I'm afraid Srider is probably right, and that we're not going to have that option.

    It shall be sorely missed.

Its just wishful thinking on my part.

The very begininng of the article said something to give me hope.
But after reading it the second time... I see what you're saying....

I am really hoping for at least EVO kind of profiles.

Here in Dominican Republic, we got a very small league and we keep our stats in a PS2 Memory Card (Hori VF4E Memory /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif)
So everytime that we meet I take "El Memory Card de la liga" and we play always using that same memory Card, No quest wins or anything, just our fights.

    So now enter PS3 /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

No memory card as a standard feature, so the question is:

    a) Can I make the system file of VF5 to be located in a Memory Stick?

    b) Can I use this file in Memory Stick in other consoles?

I am happy for the 30 character because now there can be more users of the same character in our league.

    BUT

That won't mean nothing is we can't take the system file (From the whole league) to other consoles. We rotate the meeting place.

An taking the PS3 from house to house is not an option. Everybody knows now that the thing get scratched by giving a bad look to it.

You can copy the system data which includes the profiles, and load it onto other PS3's. It works just like evo where it will overwrite whatever profile data there is on the destination PS3.

I'm assuming this can be avoided by saving the VF5 file on a separate PS3 login? That way, you can have more than one VF5 file (but since only one user can be logged in at any one time, it's not like you have two save files running).

Is this correct? The way games like Resistance and Tekken DR have their save files lead me to believe it is so.

Not like you're going to have a problem, Heta Akira... but still /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
