Flashiest Character in VF4 Evolution?

Who do you consider the flashiest character in VF4E and why?

I myself find it hard to pick between Jacky and Lion for this. They both have some cool floats and the backflip for Jacky is sexy as a float ender. Lion just has a lot of cool movement during his floats. Both have a couple nice looking throws as well. This is not a discussion of game mechanics, but more on the "Cool" or "Wow" factor associated with viewing the characters played.

Hmm..the flashiest, you mean, the more stylish? That kind of character that everytime we see it in the movies we say: wowww aaaaaaaaawwwwsome!! Is that it? If it is, then I would choose..well, I think I would choose all characters. Show the game to an outsider, someone who never plays games, and they'll say "wow" to most throws and movements of most characters. I think Akira is the less flashy, as he's the most Bizarre in terms of movements. Altough it's hard and nice to execute a SPoD there's nothing flashy in it. Yes, it's fast, but doesn't look cool. It's so fast that you can't even see what Akira exactly does. Jeffry and Wolf are flashy in terms of throws and realism. In terms of style every other characters has it. Except Aoi, she's more like Jeffry and Wolf.

hmm you could probly say any character but i'm gonna go with Lei Fei, his attacks just look so cool and with his 1P outfit the sleeves whip around and stuff.

I think Jacky looks a lot flashier in Evo with his Kiss of the Dragon and still always saying YEAHHH!!!! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif. I think Lei Fei and Shun are the flashiest in the game and the funnest to watch.

I agree. Lei Fei and Shun can look real gracefull and flashy when played by a skilled player.

I am a wrestling fan so i think wolf's throws are quite cool.He doesnt have many combos which is shit cos i wanted to play as him.I think Lion and Shun are the coolest with Lions[4][4][K] [P]+[K](buffered)and then combos. And Shuns moves like standing on his hands and then [P]+[G].Plus Shuns winning poses...

I think Akira looks the most awesome when he's destroying somebody. I just love how all his moves are slam into you and stomp the floor. And with all his bodychecks it's like he's saying "I don't even need my hands to hurt you." But as far as pure flash goes, watching Kage flip and somersault around the ring is probably the most entertaining thing for me.

Every character on high level. Or shun.

I think Pai can be pretty flashy in Evo. Don't know how effective all her flashy moves are, as there are no MN players to test them on. She has a lot of new stuff that reminds me of Xiaoyu- another scary resemblence to Tekken ;(

For me it's Lau or Shun. Lau, in particular, has radically improved since VF4 and looks pretty amazing in action - he flows more naturally than any other character IMO. Shun also looks great, especially played at a decent level - his little back-kicks and rolls always bring a smile to my face.

On the flip side of the coin I'm still not impressed with the way some of the characters string moves together. I think Sarah and Kage are two of the most artificial looking characters in the game. Sarah's somersault kick just don't look balanced properly and her flamingo stance seems unatural.

As for Lei-Fei, no offense to his fans, but I think he his moves look a bit cheesy. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

On topic - I think Akira has a style all his own. Maybe not exactly 'flash' but definitaly stylish and he radiates strength.

Jacky ahs some very nice animations in evo.

On the flip side I think Brad's animations seems very unnatural sometimes. Like the motion capture team took the day off or something.

Depends on what kind of flash you like.

Rhythmic- Lei-Fei all the way. He flows between stances like water and his sleeves are all billowing out and he's like "Hoo! Huh! Hey-UH! Hi-yaa!" and your friend's like "whoa" and you're like "word".

Badass- Akira. A skilled Akira is SCARY. He'll body-check you everywhere and dump you around and intimidate you. A few of those four, five-hit floaters can unnerve even me.

Badass Runner-Up- Jacky. Kick, kick, kick, kick, kick, wham, dance away, "YEAAAHHH!!!"

Funny- Shun Di, and no one else. It's too great watching go into a handstand, flip someone around by the neck, go into a one-legged backwards kick and then drop to the ground to take a few drinks.

Lion- in a category by himself. See his [6][1][P]+[G], [8] or [2], [P]+[G].

But really, all the chars have flashy moves. I'll play certain chars for the sole purpose of nailing certain moves, i.e. Vanessa's tackle and punch, Wolf's spin-around clothesline, pretty much any reversal from Aoi, and Pai's Boukotai (sp?) [K][K][K].

Pretty long-winded way to make basically no point, but I just had to point out the best ones.

I agree with TechnoKid; Kage's ten foot toss, followed up by a knee and some cool combos, makes him the most flashy character.

kage with all his millions of flips, and throws and shun too.

Actually, any character in the game can be flashy, it all depends on how you use them. I mean, I don't think Lei Fei is all that flashy, because most of the Lei Fei play we see from Japan is flashy already (so flash is normal), unlike Goh, where when we see flashy Arashi vids, we take more notice, becuase to most people, Goh is less flashy than Lei, and seeing a flashy Goh, is quite a surprise.

    I will post some things I have seen for each character;

Akira can be extremely flashy, probably the most imo:

-using the 2/3 DLC dodge variant to set up back throws and BT P+K hits on rising attacking opponents

-Akira can get highly creative with combos, using the Knee, DLC, etc.

-" Sick Damage from TEH D0GGE BODY CHECK"

-Spod, especially when the thrid hit is into a wall (or rare, a ring out)

-using b,f+p+g for ring outs, or the large damage wall combos you can hit with

-his stance, and the extremely difficult p+k swipe for it

-excellent set of reverals, and using those is usually flashy
    - - - - -
Kage can be flashy also, though not as much as Akira:

    -TFT variations, like the d+p+k , FC f+k , db+pkg , ub+k+g

-JM reversals, both of them take a hefty amount of anticipation, but are definately well worth the rewards they offer

-two reversals out of stance, I have seen them used actually quite well

-using the JM f,f,f,f,f YUKAZU! running to play mind games with the opponent

-his techniques for breaking rising attacks usually are flashy looking, like using JM k+g or , (non-JM) uf+k+g, and of course the potential of the JM mid K reversal

-moves like f,f+p+k+g or f,f+k+g (even running F+k) are pretty flashy

-BT p+kk , bb+p (whiffs) , BT ub+k+g was highly cool and flashy back in old VF4, I saw Chibita as Kage do it for the first time

-I don't think I have ever seen d,df,f+k used on purpose, or too good effect...that moves a little too 'flashy'
    - - - - -
Wolf has a decent amount of flash, but nothing too extrordinary:

-d+p+k , (non-damage version) --> low throw, it's not guarenteed at all, but works sometimes due to mind games

-Shinging Wizard, a reversal --> hit-throw, definately has flash

-two kick reversals, actually practical against Kage players who spam k+g and df+k /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

-dodge 'attack' is just a site to see when used effectively, especially getting around to the opponent back

-Max Charged p+k, sets up a ton of mind games

-fast GS is flashy in itself, especially after his cancellable moves, like kg, or d (during) b,f+p

-Toe kick Stunner, especially to hit failed dodges

-Roar stance is nice, and is very damn flashy against characters that typically don't throw out very many Roar applicable moves

-FrankenSteiner (which I have seen followed numerous times by [running] F+p+k+g) is flashy

-running in with f,f+p+g throw, the opponent won't like that however /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

-I have seen, qcd+k , D+k , ground throw, which the opponent could tech roll after the second k hit, but sometimes they don't expect it (or are lazy)

-using the change to avoid and then grab onto rise-attacking opponents

-d+p+g ground throw mind games, after the lariat especially

-surprise exchange, really nice for turtling opponents, or forcing them to dodge and tacking on a toe kick stuner etc.
    - - - -
Goh has flash, alot when you look at it:

-low punch sabaki, requires nice timing, tons of flash

-hit-throws, especially the two k+g ones, the HSU Goh fight vs Kage in KSII shows this clearly /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif (great match too, one of my all time favorites easily, really good fight that one)

-watch some Arashi Goh vids /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif (and that KSII HSU fight)
