1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. For those who want to use a DC stick for VF5

I've searched the internet and I'm sure no one else knows this, but you can use your Dreamcast sticks (the Megalo style ones with green buttons) on the PS3.

All you need is the 3-in-1 PC Joy Box (something I was lucky enough to already have as I used them on Mame with my DC sticks). Although the Hori real arcade pro isn't recognised, the DC sticks are. The buttons are a little messed up so you can't play 6-button games like Street Fighter as the start button is where fierce punch would be, but it is perfect for VF5 and Tekken DR after assigning the buttons correctly in game. No PS button, but that's no bother - just turn your sixaxis on if you ever need to press it.

Great news for any of you that still own the awesome Dreamcast sticks.

At the Buy.Com LAN2007, I saw someone bring in a similar rig. I was pretty surprised (they painted it all white too, looked decent actually).

I'm not that big of a fan of the Agetec sticks though. Still have like 4 of them for my DC and use it when I play VF3tb though (or any arcade sort of game on DC: Virtua Tennis, shooters, etc...).

Still though, thanks for the heads up on that. It's a very viable option and certainly saves up space (all of my gaming peripherals just take up too much space...).

The arcade stick is a Sanwa one, but the buttons are custom-made if you ask me. BTW, did you notice any input lag when using the adapter? People said there was a slight frame lag when using adapters.

    BTW, yes VF3 beats VF4 /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

No lag at all. I am reasonably good on 3D fighting games (especially VF) and there isn't any lag whatsoever. Me and my bro use 2 DC sticks for 2 player and it's perfect. It reacts just as it should do.

And yeah VF3 is awesome - bring back uneven floors and Taka-Arashi! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

It's true that the sticks aren't quite as 'tight' as my Real Arcade Pro 2 but they are still awesome, and ideal for Virtua Fighter - they are proper Japanese game sticks, nothing like those god-awful Mortal Kombat/Tekken 2 sticks (the springy, rubbish X-Arcade style sticks) that we are often stuck with when arcade operators bung a new game in any old cabinet.

The buttons however are miles better than the Real Arcade Pro ones. Those ones are squidgy and spongy, the DC stick Megalo buttons are clicky and feel tons better.

And as for VF3 being superior; Taka-Arashi better be back in an Evolution style update to VF5 (if he came back in VF6 the roster would still be uneven). Taka was awesome, especially when he did his /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif throw from the top of Lion's stairs...

I have just updated my PS3 to version 1.80 and although the DC sticks work on the PS3 front end as they used to, the sticks become dead when going through the loading sequence (use game data, check complete etc).

Has anyone else had a similar problem while using controllers through the USB after updating.

I'm very frustrated by this as I can't play VF5 until I find out how to sort the problem. Can I roll back the PS3 system version?

    Hope someone can help.

    Thank you.

They should only bring back the uneven stages as unlockables in quest mode.
It would shut up the critics in the press that says VF5 doesnt have enough "Extras". That way the purists wont be forced to use them. Same goes for TAKA. HAving Dural as an unlockable you have to buy in quest mode in vf4 evo gave the whole thing a TANgible objective even the most DENSE gamespot reviewer can appreciate. (Gertsman this means you lardass).

The only thing I like in VF3 more than 4 or 5 is the music. Vf3 had instant classic arcade music.

Oh yeah one more thing Vf needs back from Vf3: Yu Suzuki, damnit.

Is everyone in Digital Rex just playing Majong in their office for the past two years or what? I havent seen JACk from them since they announced their studio. Its a waste of great talent.
