Fuzzy guard, I never use it

when should I be using and how? Whats the theory here, probably already discussed, but couldn't find them. If you have answers that would be greatk, or if someone could post the link to where this conversation has already taken place that would be much appreciated.

It's used when you're in slight disadvantage to avoid immediate throws & still block attacks. Nothing begeiner Lei Fei players should be concerned about /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

 

hey, i'm firmly an intermmediate lei fei, i'll thank you very much. I'm eight dan and still on the rise, I just need to add more tools to my tool belt in order become ever more deadly. I even went up 2-0 on Konjou Akira this weekend, thats the impressive part, the unimpressive part is how i lost 2-3 /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif if only i could have fuzzy guarded, lol

 

Look at lei's command list. Sort by clicking on grd. Find moves that are -5 on grd. Go to dojo, set ai to guard, mid or throw. Do one of your -5 moves, then when its blocked, hold guard, and briefly tap down on stick. If you do it right you will duck the throw and guard the mid.

Yes, for all characters. Technically you can be 0-frame thrown @ -5 if the opponent delays perfectly, but I wouldn't worry about that now.

Thanks...I vaguely remember doing something like this in EVO Dojo, where Akira would do a string of attacks after you used /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif.

So do you guys use fuzzy guard on a match to match basis. I understand what it is and how its done, but how often do you all employ this. do you always tap down if you intend on staying in a blocking state, (and dont think they will attack low)
