Just did a 2-day stint in Paris. With a few hours to go 'til the Eurostar departed, I actually stumbled onto an arcade.

It was version B, so wasn't real 'practice' for when I get back to Tokyo, but was good enough, and nice to play a strong Shun for a change. Anyways, the guys I played with were pretty good, and pretty nice. I got quite a few wins in there.

But, most of all, cheers to the French for getting the damn button configuration close enough to the original design for it to be playable. Jeers to the UK for mucking up the aforementioned point. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

What was the arcade you were at called ?

In Paris I reccomend the Tete dans le nuages arcade ( head in the clouds )
Its my favourite arcade in the world, its -1 floor below, has a mcdonalds ( with a special gamers menu ) a 50fps thrill theatre and a videogamestore .

Almaci: That might be the one I was at. Had a gamestore in there, but I didn't see the Golden Arches. The one I was at was right outside of a station called... Raceliou Somethingrather... down the street from the opera.

I played at Las Vegas in Picadilly Circus in London -- avoid like the plague.

"Richelieu Drouot", that's the name of the station. And there is indeed a "la tête dans les nuages" there, with McDonald's, Micromania shop etc. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif
Very clean place with good VF fighters, but the credits are a bit expensive.

Agreed on all points, but after living in Tokyo & visiting London, it didn't seem that steep.

The guys were quite kewl as well. They spoke enough English to get by, and we had some good matches!

Yeah and actually the players arent THAT good .
I have no trouble beating them with my Aoi and thats quite a feat considering I have no human competition whatsoever here in Belgium and I can only go to Paris every few months .

Credits aint that expensive and get cheaper the more money you change at a time .
    Lots of free credits .

Yeah, I did well with Aoi as well, but remember -- that's Version B, so I did okay w/ Aoi & Shun, but rather poor with Lion & Lei Fei. It took an Akira to stop my Aoi streak, but no surprise, as those three people are much stronger in B.

I'll be in Paris myself on the 10th of may until the 17th. So I'll make it a stop to get to La tete dans les nuages. Kinda gay in the naming department...but I'm surprised the crowd held up to someone who plays VF in Japan on the regular.
Any other arcades in Paris worth talking about ?

Well, I'm not that fantastic... I'm a better anticipator than a reader to be honest, unfortunately. Also, I haven't played Version B in about 4 months or so, and the characters I lost the moest two, are the ones that I totally suck against -- Wolf & Akira.
