1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

Didn't know quite where to post this.
I've read guides and such, and I'm so new to fighting games in general that I've no clue what the fuck I'm doing.
If there's anyone willing to help, much would be appreciated.
It's not doing moves that I can't do, it's when to use them, how to punish and all that jazz.
Just wondering if there would be anyone willing to help/train me a bit.
Gamertag is lokixkrit, just in case. ;<

What are you doing? What moves are you using? Give the situations.

The more specific you can be, the better we can help.

    Check out Shag's Wiki... nvm.

    Hey Krit,

Posting in the General Forums is a good place to put this as well. There are certainly some basics to Virtua Fighter (and indeed, fighting games in general) that can be applied to any character - the concepts of advantage, disadvantage, yomi, etc. Let us know exactly what kind of things you're hoping to learn (or even that you don't even know where to start) and then we can go from there!

Krit, if you are all new to Virtua Fighter (4 & 5), then I'd greatly advise you to buy the BradyGames Virtua Fighter 5 Strategy Guide. It's a good guide to start your journey with giving you an overview and the bread-and-butter basics that you will need for understanding the game mechanics behind Virtua Fighter.

The first thing you should do before you get on the net is go through the command training. This game doesn't hid anything from you unlike tekken.

I think VF hides a lot from their players: practically everything that is not expressed by animations isn't visible to the beginner player. Command list training is good for getting an overview or new ideas about your character's moves though. If you are already knowledgeable there I'd have a look at the Wiki or at my blog next to get an idea how the basic principles of Virtua Fighter work.

Go to dojo then option. It shows you the frame count right there if you turn them on. vf4 evo I tells you every basic command from recovery 2 throw escapes.

P.S. In vf5R Its shows u the damage ingame.

Other than that remember not to sabaki against her /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif as it's a double hand attack.

Copied from my old Versus Arena page on Goh Notes:

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Pai is an aggressive and quick character with no real weaknesses. Her good combos and strings that leave enough room for numerous attack options, her special stances, fabulous launchers, and her throw game (including low-throws) make her a challenging character in close and long range. Merely Pai’s overall net damage isn’t that great so that she has to rely on her one counter-hit launcher (see below) much more often.

MOVES: On block certain moves, for instance her main-juggle combo starter , or even , can be punishment with throws. For Pai has no real weaknesses you have to closely observe her moves and get to know when punishing Pai is appropriate, and safe.

STANCES: Pai’s Meishouho stance leaves her back-turned. If you don’t react immediately, then do not try to intercept her as her BT-actions are quite strong. In spite of that, her Bokutai stance is only a timed special stance, which means that you can wait it out.</div></div>
Try to net damage yourself before she does. Shoulderram mix-ups are the way to go. Without knowing how you usually approach Pai or what your level with Goh is, it's really hard to give you any other valuable advice.
