Goh's interrupts

I'm having a problem. I just recently switched from maining Aoi to Goh. I'm having a problem with players rushing me and spamming PPPPPPP over and over again. I had a particularly hard time against a fairly terrible Brad player who just did that over and over again.

I get stuck blocking. I can't evade in time and I can't seem to 2P in time either. I'm trying to get the timing of 4K+P+G but that seems to bite me in the ass too. I've tried to watch videos to see how to handle different situations, but that PPPP spam is hard to find in high level play.

What safe moves should I do in this situation?

2P should help, but if it doesn't... I don't know. Try to begin the round with 2P -> 2_3P+K, and keep taking advantage over your opponent before he does.

had some of these Brad players too - shoo shoo punch punch punch shoo punch etc.
What i've done was setting up a record in dojo mode, to learn when there is a large enough gap in this series to get in either
    [P], [G], [6][P] ...
or [3][P][P], dash in instantly, low throw attempt

if you recognize, he's using a string which starts on high, high ...
you should be able to interrupt with [2][P] or lows, but be careful if it's a high, mid,... you're done for
i personally like to use [2][K], instant evade... for interrupting spammed strings.

if you have the chance to get some distance [4][6][K] interrupts almost everything one can spam

to evade during Brads strings is quite tricky, coz everytime you try to evade during his ducking or dashing motions you get a failed evade

[4][P]+[K]+[G], [P]+[G] ... at the very beginning of the round works wonders against those PPPP spammers [IMG]

But mate if there is much lag, almost nothing Goh can do will work, then let him be and refuse further on.

    cheers

Fighting spammy Brad players can be annoying [4][P]+[K]+[G] and [2][P] are pretty useful though sometimes its best just to block and counterhit after with [6][K] , never evade against spammy players I've still got to learn that myself lol.

What was worse, is that spammy brad even gloated about how badly he beat me. If I was playing as my Aoi, I would've just thrown in a Tenchi and follow up.

But, I need to learn how to counter that kind of play without the Tenchi crutch. That's why I switched over to Goh.

  6. [4][6] [P] is excellent against these kinds of players.

Sidestepping also helps against brads PPPK string. You wanna sidestep up. Sidestep [4][6] [P]. Also if you blocked the entire string when brad ends with [K] Brad is -16 so let [4][6] [P] rip and get a free combo.

Also if you wanna start stealing momentum constantly [4] [P]+[K]+[G] during the punches or [4][6][K] before he starts [K] will sabaki the knee and you get a free combo.

[2][P] will be another go to tool. I find [3] [K] , [P] about mid range eats spammers alive as well, you often get a free counter hit combo, if they like pressing buttons on disadvantage try throwing out some [6] [K] and get massive damage.

Another of my faviorates is [4][K], [P]+[G] follow up, easy 59 damage on normal hit, 71 on counter.

Another big thing to remember is not to try and play mind games or try to do some advanced tricks and such, it gets you hit more often than it working. People who spam aren't thinking they're just pressing buttons. Don't change up unless they've shown you should.

Also be mindful grabbing may or may not be a good tool, it depends on how much they mash on wakeup. You can also punish unsafe moves with grabs if you feel the need to. I just choose punishing with hits because in general you get more damage.

If they're spamming just press 6K you will get either a hit or counter hit, probably the latter, then use that to go into a free 80+ damage combo.

Only thing that can make it difficult, and very difficult, is lag online which delays your response cutting down the opportunity you have to respond, not much you can do about it in some cases.

One of the things these guys are forgetting to say is that obviously 6K is a slow move. So where you use it that catches them with 6K is to use it at a time that you have + frames. Opportunities include after a P, after you block a string, a failed evade. There are likely more opportunities depending on the character you fight, but I wouldn't do it when he ducks (Shoo's). It's to risky and you don't need that big damage towards you. If you get a Counter Hit on the opponent you can either Crouching grab or 3K,P, but if you do 3K,P you gotta make sure you do it right away considering it leaves you with 1 frame to do it. It is guaranteed though if you do.

4P+K+G should always be the best weapon of Goh, and the timing is much easier than those reversal skills.
You can perform five different throws after the 4P+K+G, P+G, and the damage is good.
Several times after, your opponent will condsider everytime they pppp you.
