This was originally gonna be part of a larger article about Goh’s punishment and options but it didn’t fit, so I figured I’d just throw it up here. Hope it's helpful, it would be cool if people had any other tools or ideas for Goh’s Ukemi options.

To make sense of the setup you'll need to refer to God3l's post about goro shiki which is here: https://virtuafighter.com/threads/s...-command-interpreter-and-special-state.20136/

    Here's Jin_Hm's article too: https://jinblog.games/vfbeginner01_eng/

    Ukemi (Goh Tech Rolling)

The last thing I wanted to add to this article was Goh’s options in Ukemi. Which is basically his options when tech rolling after being knocked down. More specifically his Goro Shiki tech outlined by God4l on VFDC and Jin_Hm in his article ‘Questions for you who want to win’. Before looking at Goh’s specific options for this I would recommend reading both their posts to understand the concept.

As always Goh’s sabaki’s can come in quite useful here. Using Goro Shiki you can buffer in either 46K or 4P+K+G, allowing you to block a meaty while allowing you to sabaki either the mis-timed meaty or follow up attack. This is however an option select, so you have to keep in mind that you do need to guess whether your opponent will use a punch or a kick. This should be used in combination with other options from Goro Shiki such as evade, or simply blocking. The most important thing to remember is, if in doubt, block. Below is a simple dojo setup to practice Goro Shiki with these options. Thanks to NautaNeroPanaFarfallista @-nero- for providing me with the training setup.

    Select Jean as an opponent.

Record two separate sets of attacks.

    1 - 3KK, 6K+G Full Charge

    2 - 3KK, P, 3K

Set the CPU to play these randomly.

If you are successful you will block the meaty 6K+G and sabaki the non-meaty 3K.
