One of the arcade I went to, had no VF machines whatsoever, is had games like Guitar Freaks, that drumming game, and DRR.

I also remember Sega having a VF only section of one of the floors in their arcades, but that floor also had a PS2 with VF Evo on it, and both VF sticks hooked up to it.

Virtua Fighter is not even close to being as good as either of these games, in fact VF sucks compared to them.

The GTA series is getting new and popular, VF is getting old and unpopular compared to other fighting games, (DOA, Tekken, MK, SNK, etc.)

No matter how much you "say" the GTA games suck, read some reviews and then stfu, VF did not get one game of the year award. GTA3 got the most game of the year awards out of any title nominated that year, and GTA:VC out sold VF4 and VF4:Evo in preordered copies alone.

GTA games are both extremely good games, and unless you are immature(some kid should not play cuz of the subject material) or not American(many from Asia, and some parts of Europe and South America fail to grasp some of the jokes in GTA) or if you are female (women hate this game in general), you should have an appreciation for this game, even if you think it 'sucks,' the fact is that the game has an extreme sense of atmosphere, immersive quality, and plot, not too mention if blurs the line between genres. Some thing that VF Quest is trying to COPY...

Titanic was the most popular movie of all time and received shitloads of oscars.

    I rest my case.

Dissing the Titanic, again no one wants to read about how much you think about GTA, my sig, or Titanic.

Please stop making irrelevant posts after mine, thank you![IMG]

GTA I personally think is the best action/adventure game. But GTA doesn't have the skill and depth of VF and you can play against another human in VF.

Why would you compare MK and DoA to VF? Thats just hilarious

But the VF series has not really gotten that much better over time, the move from VF3 to 4 was not that tremendous. But the huge fucking leap from GTA2 (which sucked) to GTA3 was unbelieable for any sequel.

GTA3 is the same game that upset both MGS2 (one of the most anticipated games ever) and FFX (another game with a rabid fan base).

And the reason I compared DOA, Tekken, and MK is that:

-Even though we all think that VF is better than these games (and so do critics), you have to wonder why they all end up outselling VF.

-Tekken has the easy button mashing and flashy combos, tons of clon.......I mean "unique" and "individual" characters. Not to mention that the home console versions, TTT especially, had massive amounts of unlockables.

-the DOA series has a couple things going for its popularity over VF. One of them is of course boobs and shaking/bouncing/moving boobs. The other is the physics engine which can make boobs move "realistically". And the game is not that hard to get into casually, and while you play there are certain "bouncing" animations that make players come back and play again and again. If you think this is false, go play some DOA volleyball.

-MK has all the flashy goth like plot and characters, and the real hooker is of course the special moves, and fatalities.

One thing most fighting games have that VF4 does not, is arcade endings for the games story.

Also, refridgerators aren't better than pickup trucks unless you regularly pee in your sister's fishbowl.

Excuse me while I go "get new," (however that works).

    This thread is GAY!

Like none of these posts are topical (including this one), let's move all these to a different topic if you want to discuss things other than VF.

i am very sorry for this next post.. this thread is indeed not just gay but SUPER gay.. anyway..

gta3 wasn't, in fact, a great leap from gta2. the only difference is that gta3 is in full 3d. this, i will admit, makes the game a whole lot better, however it is not revolutionary. comparing the difference between gta2 (which is essentially 2d) and gta3 is like comparing the difference between virtua fighter on the MD (which was 2d) and "proper" vf.

gta is a great game, but any comparisons between it and virtua fighter are fairly worthless because they are so different. if you want to make a statement about maybe not having much innovation in vf games, then by all means go ahead; but don't wrap it up in some meaningless metaphor.

GP, technically large pics in threads aren't supposed to go anymore, but since that one amused me sufficiently I'll let it slide ^_^

Please refrain in the future, though.

Both GTA3 and VF4 are great games, just play both, no need to compare.

Concerning GTA3 and Vice City, imo they're 2 of the best games of all time.
