Happy Birthday! Hope you have a great year (And release another Shenmue ).

Truly one of the greats of the video game industry. I know my gaming enjoyment throughout life would have been very different without em. Utmost respect.

He revolutionized Video Games. Not just with VF series.

Hang On
Space Harrier
After Burner
Outrun
Power Drift

These games were five years ahead of anything else.

Then he revolutionized the gaming industry with Virtua Racing. The first 3D polygon based game.

Then of course the VF series.

Then Shenmue, which is another revolutionary game. Its just a shame the technology wasn't there at the time. It could have been the GTA series.


There really isn't an another video game designer that comes close to what Yu Suzuki has done for the industry. Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo only knows how to make platform games.

 

Didn't know it was his 50th Birthday. He rules! Easily the best man in the business. No one else has made so many enjoyable games. I'd say every game he worked on (other that After Burner) is A+.

 

He needs to make a new hit. The cancellation of that touch screen fighter was a pity.

last i heard he was heading a new arcade concept division within sega but that was a long time ago.

 

I believe your referring to AMPlus R&D. The current game he is working on is Sega Race TV although the division was also supposed to be working on Psy-Phi and Shenmue Online.
