I don't believe in much.

Actually I believe a bunch but nothing of what I believe seems like something that might respond to my prayers. Most of us are men between 15 and 35, burning the brightest we can burn. Everything is fast and visceral and flying and killing and fucking. We die burning. We die in war. We die being stupid, drinking in absurd displays aimed at attracting a mate then driving home as fast as we can to beat off. We are a danger to ourselves. We are a danger to others. We are some bad motherfuckers and no matter how many of us fucking die, we stay that way.

And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Because we are glorious. And for this she is willing to have your baby. Even knowing your dumb ass could go get killed at any moment, she still wants you. This is how our species survives. And as no one is more apt to find their ass killed than us, no one is more apt to rise and burn again than us. This too is how our species survives.

Don't run from it. Dig into life with your claws and teeth till it's flesh tears and it succombs to your dominion. It's what your boy is doing. And he won't stop.

Be thankful.

 

Great news! His brain swelling has gone down, and they want to take him off life support and put a hole in his throat and put a tube in there and have him breathe through that. The doctors think he may be trying to wake up. He has been coughing and his nose is running and I herd that it's either he got it from one of us when we visited him or he is trying to wake up. They just need to get an ok from his parents to do this. Sorry if this did not make any sense but I am not to clear on the details and I don't know all the technical terms. All I can say now that I am overjoyed, I don't want to get over confident about the situation but things are looking good. I am going to keep on praying and I honestly believe that my friend is going to pull through.
