Has anyone lost quest data for some reason?

I recently went to a gathering and played a console

version of VF4 evo. After some matches, I felt like

saving replays, so right after a match is over, I

changed the PS2 memory card to mine and saved the

match. After few second, a Japanese message came

up and said saving is done, so I took my memory card

out and put the previous one in.

After few hours, when I checked my memory card

again, for some reason all of my quest data was gone.

I don't know what I did wrong, but this has been the

third time I lost all the data and I still don't know why it

happend. "Sigh" I will have to start all over again from

the first arcade...... It is pretty annoying as hell /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I think you wrote over (erased) your file.

When you save a replay, it's quite possible that it writes the replay PLUS the whole system file to the card in the slot. That would mean you actually have Quest data (and everything else) from the other card written on your card.

    Hmm.. That's possible.

But, the thing is it was not overwritten. If it was ,I would

have gotten Shou's data, but I just lost everything.

    Weird....

simple... get another memory card just for replays... that's what I do.

    Hmm..

I am just curious. So, is it true that there is a danger of

losing your data if you change the memory card for

    replays?

madagascar, maybe you could just save the replay to your friends memory card first, and at the end of your play session, just reboot without the game and copy the replays across to your memory card. That's what I do.

Thanks for your replys, Myke and Srider.

I think I should have done what myke said. Oh, well. =)

I hope that I am the last person who blow the Quest

data and have to start over the whole thing again.

You're not the last, I've had many incidents where my friends would pull out the mem card or turn off the ps2 while it's saving.. I've lost my data many times....

So now the rule is... no touching the mem card in the first slot or the power button... and that's why I use two mem cards.
