Has anyone seen The Karate Kid?

I saw it a couple of nights ago, and I thought it was one of the best films I've seen in a while, I saw Toy Story 3 a week earlier which was good, but this movie was pretty darn good, my father who saw the original liked this one better and says it is better but in a different way, Any thoughts from anyone?

Jackie Chan's the man. The story is basically parallel to the very first one. If you've seen that one, you will recognize some of the same lines and the particular moments that were reused. I had a lot of fun watching it, however. Decent fight choreographies, good visuals, and the story moved along quite well for a 2 1/2 hour movie. And Jackie Chan's the man!

 

It was alright but needless to say very formula. Kid did better than I expected with the assistance of movie magic.
