Haywire, aka that flick with the MMA fighter chick

Got to see an early screening of Haywire last night. Great fight scenes, probably the best of any hollywood movie I've seen in years. Good thriller / spy plot. Gina Carano actually does a fine job of acting in addition to kicking ass, and the rest of the cast is great.

Go see it if you've got any interest at all in action movies.

Did they actually voice over her?

 

Some choice comments on the IMDb message board indicate that Gina Carano's voice was digitally altered in Haywire. I can't verify if what's being posted here is true or not.

I still want to see this movie, though.

Girl was happy to chill and drink bottles of O.E. with her boyfriend in her younger days?? Now that was my type of down chick!

Anyway, Gina Carano can finally be the one who picks up and carries the torch that Cynthia Rothrock held during her heyday. Rothrock was unfortunately way ahead of her time to be accepted by the mainstream media and public as a female action movie star in the US. But I think Carano is coming up at the right time to make real noise with her background as a fighter in the growing MMA industry.
