Well, today I was at a local game shop, and was checking out the lousy array of ps2 sticks....(a pelican stick, and a blaze mine one ). After being totally disgusted from sight of the selection, i decided to leave. On my way out, i started passing all the old stuff....(genesis, NES, SNES), and i spotted what looked to be a gift from the heavens. An old Capcom SNES stick was sitting on a bottom shelf where no one could see it. I picked it up to check out the button and stick action. It is frickin sick. I must say its a very well built stick for the era. The stick is smooth. Although some slight clicking, and a loose spring, it was awesome. Then the buttons. There are six of them, and pretty close to arcade style. After all this joy i spent on it, the bad stuff started to hit me. It is an SNES stick. So i now ask this very important question.......Is there a way i can rewire the stick to plug into a a PS/PS2??? I am willing to try anything to get it to work on my PS2. Are there any adapters for this type of problem?? The guy at the front counter said he didnt think so. Please, if there are any engineers, wiring pro's, or stick experts that can tell me how to do this, please dont hesitate to respond.

I am not aware of any snes -> psx converter, and making one would be non-trivial.

As long as you can find a common ground, then solder wires to the signal side of each button + the 4 joystick directions, you can wire the snes controls to an old digital psx pad. The third party pads have nice big patches of copper on the pcbs - just wire the stick and pad common grounds together, then the "up" switch on the joystick to the "up" copper patch on the psx pcb, repeat for "down", so on and so forth. $10 bucks for an old psx pad, some wire, solder, and a multimeter, an hour or two, and you'd be good to go.
