Shen Mue storyboards etcetera were finished like 4 years ago.

Now people will finaly realise that my claims that Suzuki has lost most of his power and respect within Sega werent just wild ramblings.

Yes story board is finished, I was jokingly saying he's penning the novel version now since a sequel is not a given at this moment... I was trying to imply the fact that since he's not the head honcho at AM2 now he might not be able to do the next shenmue in game form. So he has now retired to writing novels...

I guess you didn't get the joke Fishie.. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I *SERIOUSLY* doubt Shenmue III will never come out. An unfinished game isn't Sega's style. Who knows though, w/ the way things are going.

Its still under consideration, the creative people want it to happen.

Well, considering Sega confirmed that it would be made (but didn't decide the platform) about 6 months after Shenmue II came out, I'd say that's a nice indication.

Propeller Arena got shit-canned well into development though, so who knows. I just don't think they'd diss their hardcore fans like that, but then again, what machine are playin Ver. C and Evo on? /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

but wasn't that game one of the ones that was supposed to be converted to home? I remember hearing that it was done but still canned for the home release...

Nope never was as far as I know.
Emergency ambulance, Brave Firefighters and jambo Safari were to be converted tough(on a single disc), no other Hikaru games were ever considered for conversion to home.

So as far as we know... Shenmue 3 is still not a given...

Yeah, this is Planet Harriers - I played this when it first came out - it's amazing, although I'm not so big on the characters.

As far as I know, it was never considered for a home release (at least not officially announced) but I did hear a rumor of Gamecube release. I think that was from IGN as well, so I guess we all know what that means.

    Good info available here:

    http://www.video-fenky.com/archives/000045.html

    "Dev studio restructuring

The nine companies currently existing will be restructured into five outfits.
In addition to these five companies, two more development studios will be founded: one devoted to sports games (Sega's current focus) and one headed by Yu Suzuki and concentrating on the creation of hits.
In other words, seven development studios in the end."

Looks like he's got one last chance to re-establish himself...
