1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

So how exactly do you spend your time in the dojo/training mode? I ask this legitimately as this is the first VF I've really gotten in depth with, and I'm relatively new to the deeper level of fighting games in general. I know that in 2D fighters like KOFXIII which I also play, I use the training/practice mode to brush up on my combos mainly. Basically I use it to get my execution down and try some new set-ups (starting with jump ins, lows, etc).

In VF5 though, I find that execution is generally more lax, and I'm pretty much able to hit most of my Wolf combos with near 100% consistency. I used to hit up dojo to learn them, but I don't feel any benefit in doing that anymore. What should I be experimenting with in dojo mode now? Can I learn match-ups in dojo by playing the AI?
I'm sure I can set the record function to learn specific strings, but I find that most of the time I don't need to go into something so specific.

I guess one thing I can definitely work on is my defensive OS like evade dash cancel etc, but again, I'm more interested in learning WHEN i should be evading against certain characters, when I should fuzzy etc.

Hopefully we can share some info to get the most out of training :)

Forgive me if this is in the wrong section, I figured this would be the best place for it.

Well when it comes to dojo I try and do something in there at least twice a week-rather it be on combos, things I had trouble with with other characters etc.. There's not REALLY much else I find myself doing in there. Having a good mental game i think is important and you cant get that from dojo. The cpu is ok to fight, though you'll never see the cpu do a max combo that actually makes much sense, but still.

I could definitely work on my defense though and dojo can help with that. I'd rather fight a human though who's not just good with 1 character, but with a lot of them. Having a good teacher I think is the best "dojo".
