    This thread was moved from the Character and Technique Training boards into this, the Kumite board. In the future, please place any posts dealing with Kumite rankings in this board.

    And the faq linked in the above reply is a great source of info, and happens to be readily available on this site. You should take a look at the Virtua Fighter 4 section of this site (from the main page). It contains a number of useful guides for beginning VF players.
