How to beat VF5 Quest Mode with 1 Move with Kage

Pick Kage, do:
d+P+K, K.
If it hits great. turn around and do a d/f+K pounce for extra damage since CPU almost never Quick Raise or Tech-Roll.
If it's blocked, the CPU will try to throw you, but it's timing will be off because of shitty AI. It will whiff the throw right in your back, just press d+K from the back for a knock down, then turn around and do d+P+K, K for a ground combo since the CPU doesn't TR. Repeat for about 500 matches of this and you'll beat Quest Mode.

 

Cool, that gives some insight on the AI.
But is it the hard (or whatever is the highest) difficulty? And is it in the begining, like 5th kyu, or 2nd Dan, or some more advanced rank?

And of course, as far as it might be easy to win this way.... how can that be any fun? If it's easy to win anyway, then I'll play the fun "use-many-moves" way. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

 

Has anyone even played all of the AI characters?

 

IIRC, I remember everyone complaining about how evo AI fell for delayed attacks, and how the nitaku game the AI plays is elementary.

Also, High level Kage AI would whiff knee attempt when they do TFT into a wall.

Yes, evo AI is just so much better.

 

Anyone have any other AI exploits such as this? It'd be a good resource IMO.

It is a good resource I agree.

These are the kinds of things that develops bad habit. Chances are, people using these exploits will get into the habit of using them against real opponent. So knowing these things that CPU falls for is a good resource to teach you what NOT to do against real opponents, and also what people learning the game through quest mode play will be doing in a real match by habit.

Vf4 evo AI was kinda shitty as well..With jacky do beat knuckle kick back step..repeat..computer always blocks standing or gets hit..provided you are in QUEST mode for some reason the AI wont fall for this in arcade.

For Lion just back dash to long distance and do b,dt+p. The AI gets hit as it dashes in every time. Then do b,t+K+G and pounce. It's beaten everyone up to named ranks so far (I've not been any further). Which is quite upsetting, obviously.

For vanessa, (ds) f+p, df+k. Delay the kick almost as much as possible and the computer will almost always get counterhit by it. You can then hit f+throw to make it the choke hold for extra damage.

Also, when the CPU is on the ground, if you hit them with a light ground attack, they will almost always get up with a low wakeup attack. Use vanessas back charge kick to avoid this and get a stomach crumple, and a free crouch throw. They never escape crouch throws either, unlike Evo.

Vs. mode is worth $60 at least so you guys should stop crying all the time.

My Lau is up to 9th Dan and I am 110 and 5, so I know it's easy thus far. Big deal. The AI's fuzzy guarding in Evo was so cheap that I exploited backdashes against the cpu anyway. It did make me really good at punishing whiffed rising attacks though.

VF5 AI still beats Tekken 5 AI.

I remember this working in Evo against the AI this badly too, although to be honest it wasn't as effective against the higher ranks but still a viable option for an easy 1-3 hits here and there. If possible lemme know how effective it is against the higher ranks in VF5 since im not in a position to try it.

haha, try that against a vanquisher like archangel or when your arcades are filled with nothing but masters on up. of course stuff like that flies against low level kyu ranks but you will have to up your game considerably once there is nothing but 10th dan's on up left in your arcades.

That was one of the worst ranked in charaters in the game, LOL. Yeah 10th kyu don't block, its there so people who have no experience advance and stay interested. Does the AI have flaws after that? Yes, but not like this example.

For Jeff,

Stay at a distance and df+K then stomp. Made it past the Kyus,Dans and up to Gladiator this way... I knew something was wrong when I made it all the way up to 8th Dan and hadn't lost a single match. At least it was good to get some combo practice in.
