I was playing today and I came across a El Blaze player who pretty much spammed 1P and 3P the whole round. I tried to sidestep and guard but the attacks kept staggering me. How do you deal with El Blaze's 1P and 3P?

You couldn't side step those moves? Strange, those two attacks are very easy to sidestep. You probably had input lag during that match. You only get stagger with the 3P when you block low. But, besides that, you should of been able to sidestep those moves with no problem.

El Blaze is at small disadvantage on hit from that move unless it is a counter hit then he gets advantage.

When he hits you with it your 6p will beat his 3p (unless it was a counter hit)

So you don't really need to be SUPER defensive unless it is a counter hit, but the move is safe I believe even on block.

both 1p and 3 p have very short range, if you can't find another solution just stay out of the range, 2k,6p,3pp,66pp,3k will all outrange those moves pretty easy and you can punish when he whiffs them.
also like ninjacw said, if 1p hits on nh you can interrupt all his attempts at attacking after it with 2p,6p or 4k

Don't forget threat stance. If your out of range you can go into the stance and grab him from outside his range. And if he tries to pressure you, you can use you kick option as an alternative. You get to stay out of range as well as making it hard for him to approach or defend accordingly.

I appreciate all the help. I guess I was having one of those days where I can't sidestep and/or deal with spam moves.
