I can't evade with my stick.

okay i know this is a stupid question but anyway i just bought a stick and i was playing on the controller.

On the controller if i tapped up and down it evade respectivily.

I can't do it on my soul calibur 2 hori stick. I have to tap up up or down down . somtimes i can evade by just pressing up once but down never and i'm trying to figure out how i do it.

Can someone shed some light? cause instead of evading i crouch or just walk into the background.

 

Holding it down longer results in a crouch or an 8 way walk. Maybe your SC2 stick is broken ? Make sure you quickly tap the joystick, don't hold it at all.

 

Please, don't spam by posting the same thing twice in two different places...you're probably not getting many replies because there really isn't much to be said about tapping a joystick up or down...the only tip or advice i can give you is to practice, try hitting down and letting the stick go back to neutral a quickly as possible...
