I don't know how Jacky players do it.

Right, I'm unsure if this is the correct area to post. Hell I doubt it is. Regardless, this has to be said.


Last night I decided, out of morbid curiosity, to play as Jacky.

So I go online and start creating and joining player matches, fair enough.

I use some strategies I have picked up from playing against Jacky and win about 90% of my matches. Fairly easily might I add.

I was getting messages all night but I was more interested in playing than reading them so they built up.

When I finally decided to hang up my controller I read my messages.

Damn!

I've never seen so much hate!

I had 16 messages, 4 of them said GG or something similar.

The rest were unadulterated hate!

The last guy spoke alot of shit down his headset at me and I decided to play him again.

I picked Kage and stomped him, I picked Akira and stomped him then he sends me another message...

He then blocked communications with me.

After last night I have noticed a few things:


One, I don't know how you Jacky players put up with it.

Two, how Jacky's slide shuffle is "cheating".

Three, I hate playing against Jacky but loved playing as him.

I think I'm a closet Jacky player...

 

I have got some messages similar to the above but only from really shitty players. The funniest being, "all you do is down attack while I am on the ground". I didn't even know how to respond to that. In general though, I believe any players that send that are not real VF players but people that picked up the game after getting tired of DOA and just spam buttons. Sad really.

Ironically some jacky i was playing about an hour ago was doing shuffle>low kick>shuffle. I was playing Lion so I began to attack the legs. Then I got the hate mail.

 

Really? I play Jacky religiously and get maybe 10% hate mail. Weird. But every character can be played in a way to warrant that kind of response, not just jacky i figure.

I beat some scrubby akira (joined my table) and after the match i got this.

"Punk."

I sent back

"y???"

he sends back

"you won't let me stand up and fight, like i do you. its unfair."

Or some shiz like that. I sent him back

"techroll silly."

[just for the record, even if he didn't want to let me stand up i would have. I can just imagine him in his living room everytime he knocks me down yelling POINT, and then letting me stand to conitnue the fight.]

I've actually done that before...and in VF4 I used to abuse that /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif a lot. NeoGeo Panther edit: I'll tell you what though...Based on my past experiences and what you just posted I'll put money that Black Bauer CTU gets a hellava lot more "hate" mail than you do I've all but forgotten how much of a headache his Jacky is to deal with (in a good way). He doesn't spam anything you mention but trying to figure out what he was going to do next almost had me carried out in a straitjacket /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

 

I'd guess that his jacky got more hate because he was lower in the rankings (he was new if I'm correct), so lower tier players were probably just pissed at fighting someone much higher in skill than what their ranks would leave you to beleive.

 

That was me! We were on the forgotten Dojo stage and your Lion wore a camoflage jacket and kept calling me a knuckle head.

I never sent you any hate mail though, I don't know where you got that from.

Your Lion shit all over me at one point. I don't know how to deal with lows when I play Jacky seeing as I've been using him a day.

I tried to change to Akira and give you a proper match but I couldn't find you again.

 

I think that a person could win a high percentage of games with Jacky using moves w/slide shuffle, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif( /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif), throw, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, and real simple low punch/elbow/standing jab mixups.

Jacky is my # 3 so I am pretty familiar with him. In my estimation, it takes more skill to deal with Jacky's stuff than it takes for the Jacky player to dish it out, even when you have a decent working knowledge of Jacky and his movelist.

 

I agree with your second comment. I have far more trouble against any given Jacky player then any other character despite Jacky being my main.

Don't be mad at jacky be mad at Bruce Lee lol! I use Jacky alot and i did'nt get any hate mail yet. I feel left out now.Wait i've gotten some kind of hate mail before come to think of it but I would'nt say it was Hate but it was dripping with envy for a good reason. Now that person is on my friendslist.

 

LOL soooo TRUE! I main Jacky as well but damn I hate fighting against other Jackys!!! You think fighting against someone you use a lot would make it easier grrrr....

 

so strange, i haven't gotten hate mail since like, 6 months ago. the crazy thing is, everyone says the monk is broken, but i never get flamed on xbl... maybe its the constant "YEAHHHHHHH"s. maybe they just get in peoples brains and flip the hateswitch?
