i need help with the tutorial that has you do a defensive move and then evade by 66 or 33 G. i cant get the timing. am i supposed to let dural hit me with the punch & kick, & then go for the defensive move? if so i still can't get it.... any help?

Let Dural hit you with [P][K] then immediately hit [2][6][6][G] or [8][6][6][G]

It will only count if you evade and quickly cancel with the dash and cancel the dash by guarding.

Is that easier to do on a pad than a stick? Because trying to do it with a stick is proving unproductive (I'm totally new to using an arcade stick, unfortunately).

If you want play on stick then don't worry so much if you have problem with inputs in the beginning. I adjusted to AS after 3 months after buying it and now i'm taking profits [IMG]

Thanks for the help Shag. Im still having trouble though, i think its the timing. i was able to get it twice, but i seem unable to reproduce it. nevermind getting it 5 in a row.

im using a controller (i dont have a stick) & both times i did it with the pad, although normally i use the thumbstick- it seems a bit too sloppy & slow.

you are supposed to get hit by the PK first (to put you into disadvantage), then input
[8]~neutral [6][6][G] as fast as possible. Theres no 'timing' as such, just crank it out. But you must let the stick go to neutral after inputting up to get the actual sidestep.

The trick is to tap down or up as son as you get hit by the kick. Its a good way to start it out. Work on up/down first then do it again with the other direction then do it again switching after every 2 ups or 2 downs then finally consecutively switching even if you make it or not.

Once you get the rhythm is becomes really easy.

As manji said you want to delay a bit after the evade.
