I won my WCG Qualifier, but....

    Hello all,
Today I was able to participate in the WCG North Regional qualifier and finished first but a certain player named AnoHito misreported the match. Here's how the matches went:

Match 1: vs AnoHito - He wins convincingly with Eileen 3-0. I used Vanessa. I'm in loser's bracket now.

Match 2: vs FunkPanda (Brad) - I win this one with Vanessa 3-0

Match 3: vs Lars VFDC Rhul (Lau) - I win 3-1 with Vanessa.

Match 4: vs AnoHito (Ei) - I win 3-2 with Vanessa to make Grand Finals.

Match 5: vs AnoHito (Ei) - AnoHito wins the first 2 games to place tremendous pressure on me, but I come back and win the next 3 games. Final Score 3-2 me.

I report all previous matches and when I look at the final tables, it shows AnoHito as the winner. Wtf?

I will be posting a youtube video of the aftermath very shortly. You will see that I win the final match, then send a couple messages to AnoHito and LarsVFDC.

NOTE: Since all 4 of us were online at once, we played each match ASAP so I wasn't able to report everything immediately.

Apparently AnoHito was able to submit results before me.

    Hiya Ray,

First of all, thanks for the games and congratulations on the win.

Secondly, I suggest you post a support ticked on the WCG site explaining the situation (adding any evidence you have, screenshots, youtube video, etc.), and try and get AnoHito to post one too explaining how he reported it wrong.

Hope you get this cleared up.

Second Lars_Rhua. Sucks this went this way, but seems you have your ducks in order enough to report a support ticket. Good thing is you have plenty of time before the regionals to get this cleared up, and they should have it fixed within a week if all goes well.

I don't think he should be banned, but he should definitely be kept a close eye on from here on out.

If you play him, be sure to record the match or whatever.

Let's not jump to any conclusions here... online tournaments fail in several ways. Maybe this didn't go down in the most obvious way. Give it time im sure more stuff'll come up

I remember another person not even fighting in his match yet but the winner was already posted. It could be a website issue?

I never submitted match results. Only the first person who sumbits results gets counted. After that it won't let you sumbit any other results. You must have entered the results incorrectly. Seriously, why did you post this thread without even talking to me? If you need me to back you up and tell them you won the match I'll do it, but I find the fact you started this thread just to badmouth me without even talking to me about it first extremely distasteful.

On a side note, just because I thought the matches were garbage does not mean I have anything agaist you. I just think 10 matches worth of the same repetetive tactics without me being able to figure out anything to do against it looks bad for both of us. Actually, I was trying to do several things that just weren't working because the lag was screwing up my timing, but still...

That's why I found this thread rather odd. Xzyx987X is a member of VFDC. Why would a member of this forum would do something like this to another member? I don't know how your matches, or PM exchange was, but I always said, PM somebody before putting them on BLAST, so threads like this could be avoided. Koujon, is prime example of people jumping to quick on judgement towards him in the past, and making BS Threads about him. The other user didn't show any PM exchange between ya thru LIVE. So therefore, no communication was established. The only PM I see from LIVE is the comment about the match, and that's it. Future reference folks, PM somebody, seriously.

no it just makes you look bad, he looks good cause he figured out your weakness and exploited it while you couldnt adapt. stop bitching dude.

I don't know, am I the only one who thinks that rape tactics should at least be cool/clever, rather than exploitative? At any rate, I would like to see the matches so I could figure out exactly where the holes were in what he was doing. To me it seemed like lag was preventing me from doing what I wanted to in a few key cases, but I don't exactly remember how his tactic went.

Edit: After rereading the messages we exchanged after the match, I think I see where all the confusion came from.

First, I sent him a message saying I was impressed by his persistance (the guy had pulled so many comebacks on me by the time our matches were over I was seriously impressed.)

At this point I assume he went to report the matches. I had no intention of reporting them myself, because I beleive that in a case like this etiquette dictates that the winner should be the one to report.

The first message I recieved from him after that was as follows:
It was right after this that I made the comment about the matches being garbage. It was mainly a reference to my being uninterested in the fact he had recorded the matches, which at the time I assumed was because he was wondering if I wanted to watch them.

The next message he sent was:
I replied with something like "Yea, sure, if you have any advice on what I was doing wrong I'll listen." At the time I was assuming he was reffering to a mistake I make in the match, as it was the only thing I could think of that made sense. But in retrospect, he was obviously reffereing to the reporting of the match result. I was totally oblivious to this because I hadn't even looked at the match page after I lost, let alone tried to report anything.

    His next message was:
To which I responded something to the effect of "WTF are you talking about?"

He never replied after that. I did check the match page about an hour later and noticed the matches were incorrectly reported. I realised at this point what he meant by "i advise u report your wrongdoing", although the rest of what he said still made sense to me in the context that I originally interpreted it, so I didn't think anything of it. I figured he would send me another message once he realized I didn't know what he was talking about and then we could get everyuthing straightened out. Besides, at the time I was really too busy to do anything about it.

Then to my unpleasent suprise, I woke up early this morning to find this thread (and still no new messages in my Xbox live inbox), and now here we are.

Actually it makes both players, and the match look stupid. You can't even tell the quality of the players if someone is just abusing one thing the opponent is not or can't adapt to.

What does that make you good? That you're repeating something someone doesn't understand yet?

AnoHito, sorry if all the confusion is causing you so much trouble now, but things should be okay once the record is set straight on all counts.

Rayblade did tell me about your comments (they were confusing because of the confused context).

I will vouch that it's true we might have jumped the gun, but the results were reported wrong and in a case like that, I think Rayblade did best by pointing things out right away. I don't think he personally attacked you that much, though it was the first assumption that wrongdoing took place.

However, in a situation where foul play could have happened and Rayblade clearly got wronged by a mistake (which may very well could have happened on WCG's end), I think it was his duty to put it out there and call for an immediate response and supply evidence to what he saw.

He'll understand that his lack of details in Live PMs helped the confusion (he never clearly explained what the mistake was).

In any case, I will vouch for his personality and say that he's an honest and well-meaning guy. That he wasn't clear to you about what the "mistake was" was his bad.

I do thank you for clarifying the details, and being understanding of the situation.

For you feeling like you've been defamed, I take part responsibility because I suggested to Ray that he make his case public and put everything out there because I felt that if he did not do that, in the worst case scenario (if you had actually been an unethical competitor--which I now feel you are not), this would not get resolved if he didn't make his case right away and supply evidence.
