1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. So I have been thinking... how could I grow the VF Scene in my area.

Then I came up with this idea to create simple ad that could promote VFDC and the local scene (you will notice my gamertag in the pic).

So I will be taking 20 or so ads to my local GameStops, EBGames, Best Buys, Wal Marts etc... and ask them if they can pass these out with every VF5 copy sold.

I figured it could be a good way to get the word out about the community. Just a thought, let me know what you think.

Good idea. I think there was as similar one pitched earlier on when the PS3 VF5 came out but it is still a good idea.

THE_WALL had a similar idea of making sorta like business cards (challenge cards) and asking them to pass them out with every copy sold. I ended up making a prototype card, but never went through with it. >_<

Front of the card is on top, back of the card is on the bottom.

Making videos on youtube would help a lot.

There are thousands of VF5 videos on youtube.

I don't think they allow any sort of advertisement at GS or EBgames. I remember my manager saying to to a charity campaign(because he wasn't allowed to). You have pay money(lots of it) to advertise in store.

Xbox live will help more than you would think.

if i'm anywhere that has the ps3 demo and i have time, i like to play it with all the available characters and try to land their fancier combos. sometimes a person will watch and try to ask about the game, like if its worth buying or whatnot and i'll tell them all they need to know.

i know not everybody has the time, but if you have some skill, play the demo in store if people are around just so they can see that the game is not a pppk fest.

I like Poppa's idea the best. I also like El-Brisal's idea but I think instead of using Akira for his poster child he should use Wolf. It should also have a back on the card with all of the players preferably White Wolf's take on the picture that is on the front of the game case and strategy guide.

I think everbody should do this. On the front of the card use a picture of there main character with an invitation to the community, and on the back have a picture of all the players.

We could always just post flyers around where its free... like my dads tattoo shop and the break room board at my work. Myspace is a good place as well, a VERY good place.

MystD I understand your pain and realize the #'s of VF'ers are few, so I have even toned down my handouts. It basically goes to what El_Brisal was doing by just putting the invitation with the copy of the game.

I honestly think it's great you guys actually want people to start playing the game. im kinda used to people not wanting to have anything to do with newbies

If there aren't newbies, who am I gonna beat up?

But seriously, I'm the only one of my friends who actually likes fighting games. Especially VF. We will all sit down and do a DOA4 4 person tag team because they can all pick it up and play it, you know? Its just not the same with VF.

  13. I've only just started with the VF games and after taking it online it already seems a lot friendlier than other communities. Had a few GG messages in my inbox last night, which almost never happens with other fighting games.

I come from the Tekken communty playing some of the best in the country. I not too new to VF, Ive tried to get into it since 4, but the community was small. All I had around me was Tekken this ment I could'nt play the best when I wanted to get better. I feel online will change this. Theres a tournament in philly in dec. NEC. I hope the turn will be good. A bigger pot means more money and more popularity for us VF players old and new. Its all about pro gaming. Look how big tekken is . we cant let the Japanese just own us like every evo!!!!!
