If Bruce Lee Played VF5....

Humor an old monk and allow me to ask this question without getting flamed (to bad)

If Bruce Lee had the opportunity to play VF5 what would his style have been.

Would he have played the frame-game counting frames, knowing who has the advantage or disadvantage and for how many frames, knowing the point damage of every throw and move.

Would he have been free style, improvising based on what the style the opponent was bringing, heavy use of Yomi, maybe a little button mashin now and then largely ignoring the frame-game.

I'm guessing he would use a Hori and have unkind words for the pad

Would he bring the rush down, zoner, turtle or high pressure game.

Would he play online and take the lag or prefer offline sniper level precsion?

Could he help us get VF5R on consoles?

Could anybody beat Bruce Lee at VF5 if he decided to master the game


And of course if he were alive, he and his sons would play the game

 

I imagine he wouldn't invest his time in video games and probably say something akin to GodEater's Sig...

 

With threads like this people dare say the Shang vs Cozby thread was a waste of time?? If that's the case perhaps this whole site should be banned

Yes I can see the difference, but still my point still stands. Besides people was pointing out how the thread was a waste of time I really don't care how much more genuine and mortally right this thread is compared to that one but you can't say this is worth time just because this thread doesn't have any "attacks" in it. I'm just saying I rather waste my time with a thread worth a damn to read

 

nah, Myke Called the thread and others like it a "complete waste of time" but he banned Shang and Cozby for reasons independent of that. The two items are seperate and don't inform the other at all.

Myke rarely gets involved on time wasters and time wasters alone.

But don't be so serious, This was just a thread meant for those of us that are Bruce Lee enthusiasts that also happen to be VF5 enthusiasts to have some fun. If its not your brand of smoke then don't light it up. Don't waste your time reading a thread that is of no interest to you.

We're all just passin through bro, I'm waiting for VF5R or VF6 probably just like you are, VFDC is a good place to kick back and have a little fun. If this thread is not your idea of interesting or fun that's kewl, just move on.

But crazy shit pops into my head from time to time, so sometime I create a thread to see if anybody else sees this as amusing. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Its not that you have to spend money to get on this site. If you did then I could see your point about bullshit threads. But's its a free site, you visit forums that interest you and skip the ones that don't.

You should relax a little. Show some consideration for the diversity of the VFDC community.

There's only one problem with the Cookie Monster and VF.
I happen to know first hand that the Cookie Monster is down with
Tekken and SF and does not dig VF

Also, I don't really think cookie monster could use a stick either. There are some logistics and ergonomic problems with how Cookie monster is anatomically put together. If he tried to use a Hori or something he wouldn't be able to see. I know he may potentially have skillz but he's not that good. Being anatomically challenged and a SF player kind-a counts him out.

Also, Cookie monster and Bert and Ernie all are from the Chuck Norris and Steven Segal camp they're more inclined to be in a movie about martial arts that actually play a VF(IMHO)

On top of that there is the exclusivity contract with Sesame street that would be a conflict of interest with the one you sign from Sega.

I don't think Bruce Lee would fight Cookie Monster in VF because I've never seen Bruce Lee fight a handicapped individual. Clearly Cookie monster is handicapped.

But if Bruce Lee did fight Cookie monster in VF I think he would use the pressure game to just get a ring out on Cookie monster. That would be the most humane thing to do. Rather than SPod or the Knee, Just pressure him to the edge and make
him fall out the ring

I think Bruce Lee would probably loose his female audience if he did some shit like that. Cookie Monster is big with the girls and a lot of moms. If it even got out that Bruce Lee and his Hori was given Cookie Monster the beat down in VF that would be it yo.

Yeah, this thread is derivative of that Joan Osborne song. "What if God was one of us". The only interesting part is whether he wondered if Bruce Lee would be a frame counter or just play feestyle. Whether or not one counts frames , one would at least have to have extensive experience with the game. After playing through quest mode with Goh , I knew by experience which move's guaranteed me a throw opportunity . I didn't quantify it with frame data, but the end result was the same. Researching frame data just saves you time. Then again , actually playing the game to learn the ins and outs is more fun. Back in VF2 days I didn't know shit about frame data, but I knew Sarahs elbow knee combo was more effective.

It's like choosing to explore Liberty City to find all the hidden packages or downloading a map with their locations. Sega held back from releasing the frame data on VF5 for months for that reason. They'd prefer you play and spend tons of quarters rather than use a quick reference card.


And how is this thread more of a waste of time than Cozby's Temple of real N...... thread? That's so ignorant it's repugnant.

 

I don't think Bruce Lee would study frame rates, or try to pressure his opponents, because he doesn't think, he feels. So the whole time he's fighting in vf he's actually feeling his opponents. And once you feel your opponent, "It is like a finger pointing away to the moon...Don't concentrate on the finger, or you will miss all that heavenly glory."

With that said, Bruce Lee would never use Jacky simply because Jacky took his line in vf4 evo. Bruce Lee thinks that's kinda f*cked up.
