"Let's be clear on this: Virtua Fighter 10th Anniversay is not a separate, standalone title as some sources have reported. Rumors and speculation have led people to believe that Virtua Fighter 10th Anniversary might be a bonus disc with VF Evo, or that perhaps it would be released at some point in the future, possibly as a budget title. Truth is, neither of these are anywhere near the truth. In fact, the truth is something much better than any of the rumors. To set the record straight, Virtua Fighter 10th Anniversary is a mode included in Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution, so there's no fee to pay or extra disc to manage. And the best part is, Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution is launching at the fabulous price of twenty bones.

From : IGN.com's very informative article on VF4:Evolution.

I am speechless /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif (well sort of.... /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

I dunno what to belive now.........

This is the first concrete evidence that the 10th Anniv. Ed. thing is going to be on the same disc as Evo, and I like the sound of it. There was that one person who said that 10th Anniv. Ed. was like that on Evo at E3 but nobody cared to look. IGN just confirmed it.

Also, in the latest issue of Game Informer (124) they say that 10th Anniv. Ed. is "included." I guess it's safe to say that Evo and 10th Anniv. Ed. are all on one disc.

BTW, Game Informer gave Evo a 9 (by Chet) and a 9.25 (by Andy).

I believe that the Japanese version doesn't feature the game on the VF4 EVO CD.. maybe an add-on?

In Japan and Europe, the 10th anniv. ed. disc was a separate disc released in limited quantities. The way I see it is that North America is getting the best bonus ever since every Evo disc has the 10th anniv. ed. right on it. No hassle. It should've been done this way throughout the entire world.

I'm sure they'll rerelease the Japanese version again as Sega Hit title or something hokey like that and then have the 10th anniversary edition on there. Kind of like FFX-international.

Maybe then the console version will sell in Japan.

It would've been nice if they added the old stages in the Evo VS mode too (With evo rules and all). But I won't complain. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I didn't realise that the UK had got Virtua Fighter Evo before the US, although you are getting an extra treat.

And 20 dollars. We had to pay full price over here in England.

However, I can't see this extra mode being one you'd come back to after a couple of plays.

i was under the impression that the japanese import (normal evo game) has vf1 mode which is the same as 10th anniv mode

Nope. Japanese Evo does not have the 10th anniversary (vf1) mode at all. It does have vf1 models for all the characters, and one vf1 stage, which are all purchased at the Shop.

Limited numbers of the 10th anniv. were made and distributed around Europe (not sure where else), and it sounds like the US will have this built in as standard.

I've played the 10th anniversary and found it interesting for 10 minutes while seeing how many high jump kicks I could tag onto the end of combos.

I don't think I'll play it again. Ever.

that pretty well sums up my feelings. The concept is far more interesting than the game itself. bleah.

So, uhm, does it say whether it's a separate CD or packaged in with evo?

    it says near the bottom:

"in europe, this was a special present, in America, it's a set with the PS2 version of Evo"
