I'm Curious

I don't know if someone already on this forum asked this already but why don't we get the option of selecting stages online?

 

I'm sure that nobody knows, but everyone can go with a made up theory.

My first theory is that they just didn't care to implement that because FS is mostly a minimal port from arcade.

My second theory is that they decided that it's a waste of time because almost everyone would random anyway, and the few who would not are weak players who would stay weak because they would use an advantageous stage whenever they could instead of dealing with it.

But it's probably the first one.

Because nobody needs to waste time selecting stages.

 

Because online matches don't have the format of "Best out of x" matches, so letting one of the players decide the stage would be unfair.

 

I think (maybe inadvertently? ) that it sticks with the 'adapt' theme of virtua fighter. you can gaurd or reverse anything, so you should have to adapt to your surroundings too.
