Is doing circular attack to the opponents who tech-roll important ?

    Let's say
If the opponent tech-rolls toward my backside, is it better for me to do
/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif instead of linear attack or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif ?
If yes, anyone knows why ?

Techrolls are used to dodge ground attacks (3P), not for dodging okizeme attacks. I don't think they have any evade properties. That is, circular or linear doesn't matter... it would only be important if your opponent tech-rolled, and they immediately evaded after they got up.

When it comes to half circulars, it's actually better for you to use the attack that hits on the side they are rolling to. So in your example, if the opponent tech rolls to Akira's back then /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif.

The reason is pretty obvious if you think about it. You have a better chance of making the hit connect because the hitting area is closer to the opponent, and even a greater chance to CH if they try to attack.

This way, they're forced to deal with your attack. If you choose the wrong half circular or a linear that propels you forward, you can often leave your side exposed if your attack completely misses.

I remember in EVO during the training they would drill in the fact that once an opponent tech rolls, use one of your circular attacks. So its always been something I considered important. Options following a block or hit on tech-roll are usually in your favor.

I really wish they would bring that Dojo back! It was like having expert players train you and it was all drilled in, miss that so much.

Isn't that just making up for timing errors, though? I thought tech-rolls took long enough that you unless you started your attack way too early, linears will always track. I've always been told to use things like Jacky's beat knuckle, or Jeffry's heel drop as okizeme, because the multiple active frames lets you whiff the timing more effectively than trying to rely on hitbox position, like with a half-circ?
