All it takes is continuous training that is all. Anything in VF can be done on a pad some moves like the one you mentioned may take more seemingly perfect timing but it can be done. Just keep working at it.

 

yea ive been attempting the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif part of it for hours but it is so hard

because u have maybe a 3 second time frame to complete it

 

Yeah, it's very possible, if you use the analog on your pad. It's possible even with the pad, although MS pad just straight suck. I play akira on pad, so I know that you can do it. You can also buffer double palms as well. It just takes a little practice but once you get it and understand how it feels to do it, it'll become natural and you'll be able to pop them off at will. The only thing I can't do with akira on pad is that damn 1 frame knee, but SeTTrip can so it is possible.

where is the option to change your movement from pad to analog?

There is no option, it works on both anyways.

 

I can do all the fancy akira stuff and combos (except knee) on a pad. On a stick though its easier to do the knee, but I have trouble doing spod from the second player side and buffering dbplms. So in other words, one replacement throw and im meat.

I can do it on a pad. I can do all Akira's shit on a pad.

You just need to put in a bit of work.

 

well the PS3 doesn't alow analog to be used

if it could that would make it alot easier

 

yeah Seidon and UKdiddy do pretty well on pad, busting out max damage combos on me, using true DLC and what not. BlackDragon seemed like he had a pretty good Lei too... I still believe it's not possible to do a lot of stuff on pad though, combo's with 1fd's have got to be tough and any of you pad warriors tried stepping yet?

I always thought the more advanced stuff like box stepping would be pretty hard to do on pad.

 

Call me a liar, whatever, but I have no problems with most of the stuff in VF5 on a pad, with the definite exceptions of knee. If I'm using my thumbs, then /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif(release /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif after 1f) is out of question (comes out once per 20 tries. If I'm using my fingers (not a thumb) for the buttons it comes out 50% of time.
All the other stuff is relatively easy. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

 

Stepping is a negative for me. That's the one reason I wanted to switch to joystick, but I'm just too lazy to pretty much relearn how to play again. My directional inputs on my hori are just awful. I can play Kage half decent, but akira is just a straight no-no for now. But yeah, definetely can not do stepping on a pad...for me anywayz.

Okay, let me rephrase this. I have no problem moving how I need to. However, I can't hang when it comes to moving like say Konjou or Feacha

 

hahaha back in my pad days i use to place my left thumb on the analog and my right hand on the dpad. i would use the analog to dashes and the digital to input evades for some easy easy box stepping.
