    No real differences really, unless you can read Japanese or prefer the Japanese version, I don't see any reason why you should care.

    American version is the only one that includes the ‘10th Anniversary VF’ game.
    The others are sold as a separate disc.

    Japanese had Vanessa's P1 costume and the US and PAL version had some lame yellow P2 look-alike.

    Shun Di’s face goes redder every time he drinks, the others don’t.

    I own the JPN, US, and PAL version. To me, the US seems harder, but maybe that’s just my imagination.

    In addition to the bullshit censorship that always occurs in the English versions:

    There are a couple of wallpapers that are different between JP and non-JP versions.

    Another minor, but real, difference which is also a pet peeve of mine is that rank names in the English versions do not have the background splash colour. It's just plain white text. You need to remember the order of the (silly) English rank names in order to determine the level of your opponent. Unlike the Japanese version where each rank tier had it's own background splash colour. </rant>

    That's right. The default 2P outfit for Brad in the Japanese version has a red shirt, and in the English version it's a hawaiian shirt.

    Why? I don't know.
