How does XBL handle japanese names? I am sure that in japan names are represented by japanese symbols (just like you see on thier bios if you look at gamer info) but thier names appear in english on my screen. Does someone come up with translations for all thier names, or...? And likewise is my name translated into japanese on thier screens? Anyone *know*

Not exactly sure if I'm answering your question here, but Japanese Gamertags have to be written in arabic letters, meaning that Koedo would have to use ABCs when registering his account. It's only in your profile you can use hiragana, katakana and kanji.

However, if you're talking about the rankings, they change depending on the language settings on your machine. For instance, I have a EURO 360, which is set to Japanese at all times. When playing the PAL version of the game, the Japanese version will boot.
