Ok i just started playing with Pai and i really like her! shes got like everything from all my other characters. Spead/Reversals from Aoi, Style/grace from Shun and good juggle/combos from Lau! But what are some really good setups for juggles and which juggles are the most damaging, the most i can seem to get is like 58dmg!?

Please check the ultimate combo guide for a list of pai's most damaging combos. Two or three of these combos won't apply because they're for version C and not evo... but 90 percent of them still work fine and are the best for getting maximum damage out of floats. For the combos that end in [K],[K] --> [3]+[P] (ground punch)... keep in mind that they can get out of the 10 pt. ground attack by tech rolling the second hit of pai's kick.

ok those are some good combos but i feel like i'm playing akira when using those! all those modified rising palm stuff is a bitch to do! i think i'll stick to my basic juggles and maybe a few of those if/when i can pull it off. Here's a question for you Pai players though, do you ever use her charge attack? I thought to try it after her stumble like throw but even then its not guaranteed or anything.

if the modified stuff is too hard for you, a good way to end any pai float is to do:

[P] --> [P] --> [K],[K] ... and after the double kick, you can follow up with different stuff depending on the level of your opponent's skill. If they suck, do an [8]+[P] pounce. It can be surprisingly hard to get out of. If they're average, dash up and do [3]+[P]. If they're good, they will tech roll or quick rise to avoid the ground punch. Follow up accordingly.

about pai's charge attack: Which do you mean? The [4][6][6]+[P]+[K] guarantees a throw... so if it hits, dash forward and try to do your best throw. A crouch dash into 270 is possible.
If that's hard for you, crouch dash into the FC, [6]+[P]+[G].

The [3]+[P], charge, [K] is pretty good. It's not too hard to set it up, it's crescent, and when fully charged it hits mid and also guard staggers. Basically once pai unleashes it, you're screwed. If they get hit, you can actually combo off of the small float it creates (try holding forward and doing [P][P][K][K] for example, though it needs open stance iirc).

If the move guard staggers, do an immediate standing [K] and follow it with a simple combo like [P] --> [6][6]+[P],[K].

A common setup for this charge attack is to float them and do [K],[P],hold[K]... they'll tech roll and come out of the tech roll guarding. At which point the charge attack causes block stagger and nets you your (free!?) combo.

thanks that was some good info, i've tried doing [K],[P],[K] but even when i hold kick they get up just too slow and the kick releases before they're standing. I also noticed that sometimes just of a basic kick float i can do [K],[P],[K] and all three hits will connect! is that a certain circumstance because usually all three dont. And the first charged attack using [P][K] when should i use it? it guarantees throw even when blocked? i try and throw it in after her backwards stumble throw but they seem just out of range. Also i love her reversals! its like you have two to choose from for each level!? But are one set (say[4]) of reversals for damage and the other for better positioning?

here are a few pai combos,

    1. [2_],[6],[P], [P],[1],[1],[P]+[K],[P],[P],[K],[K], if the opponent is quite heavy then substitue the [P] combo with a simple [K], then [3][P]

    2. [2_],[6],[P],[P],[2_][6],[P], -[6],[6][P],[K], or [9][K],[K], or [K],[K]

3.Lastly and possibly the easiest is any floater, [P], then [G], [K], then [6],[6],[P],[K]. Easiest combo to do and does alsmot the same amount as the other 2.

Alli really know for now, hope they help

The FC f+p requires a mc though right?

anyone found a good use for Pai's [4]+[P]?? it seems decent because it crumbles, on MC? but it's so slow! and wierd looking that i can't seem to use it effectively. Like i'll throw it out there and get an MC by mistake LOL then i wont even be thinkin about a follow so i just let them drop. The move just seems so slow and awkward to me.

try somthing quick and unexoected like either a [4]+[G]+[K], or [1]+[G]+[K]. Personally i go for the [1] kick as as the punch stuns them briefly but they naturally come back up. Try to use to punch when the opponentmisses with a move that has a slight lag, but personally u shouldnt i never use this move that much as its so slow and loads a players can see it coming and either block it or dodge then punish you for it. Stick to using quick attacks and mixing them up as pais so fast and use her speed and the speed of her attacks to confuse opponents.
