Jumping move from dokuritsu shiki

    I've noticed a move that I can't find the commands for anywhere, if someone could tell me how to do it I'd really appreciate it.

    While in dokuritsu shiki, lei sort of hops toward the opponent and it ends in a low attack. Kinda looks like he's jumping over to step on your toes. He says "amai" during the move.

    Please help:)

    (also if this is listed somewhere and I didn't notice, I apologize. )

    That jumping low is not from Doku, its from Ura Koko and the command is /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. Lei recovers in Doku though, which is maybe what made you think it was an attack from Doku.

    As some insight, most characters try low punching to cease Lei's infamous strings. The hop kick avoids low punches so try tying it simply with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. If the opponent doesn't stagger recover use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif and viola your opponent will float.

    Myke, I believe he recovers in Hai Shiki stance, sorta the way he recovers from doku /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif into hai shiki. Not to bust your balls or anything /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

    This is true. Goes to show that there is absolutely no reason for me to have thought the move had anything to do with doku. *shrug*

    Note that this move is only -4 so nothing is really guaranteed. You kinda have to know what the other guy is gonna do. The main option I use is switch to Dokuritsu stance ( /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif) which can atemi anyone's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif but you can also do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif which evades any linear attacks they may try to counter with. However a delayed launcher from the opponent beats this clean with a CH too. Anything big damaging and slow (say a full circular move) you can do Hai stance /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif or Bokutai /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif to beat those slower moves AND you get a juggle afterwards if they connect.

    -4 in hai isn't the same thing as -4 in normal stance.

    You cant get to doku fast enough to atemi an immediate /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif. It wastes 8 frames to go from hai to doku, you can reverse on the 9th frame (so in this disadvantage, effectively the 13th frame).

    This was true in vf4, and it's true in vf5 as well - tested it, you can reverse a 13frame punch (e.g. eileen /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif) or an elbow, but not a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, you'll get floated.

    It takes a while to gaurd from hai (used to be 13 frames, havent tested it in vf5). So i'm pretty certain /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif is guaranteed after ura koko /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif is blocked unless there's a distance issue. I wasn't able to bokutai fast enough to avoid it either.

    If you're fighting someone with a 14 frame knee ( jeff, lion, kage, etc) I'm pretty sure that's guaranteed as well since you cant reverse it, but need to test it more; just staying in hai might avoid some stuff.

    However, I suspect you can avoid the lowpunch with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif? (whichever that stance is called again) edit: Nehan shiki

    Have you tried going to Dokuritsu with a backstep From Hai using /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif?

    Going to nehan from hai takes forever, i've tried it, doesnt avoid lowpunches.

    I was wrong about bokutai earlier, it will avoid some low punches depending on foot stance.

    I tried 4PKG, it will avoid (not reverse) low punches unless you're really close. Loses to the normal stuff doku loses to (jeff 2k+g etc). It also takes longer for the reversal to activate, so you can be hit by elbows or even uppercut-speed punches.


    8PKG 8KG will come out fast enough to stop 14 frame knees and slower linear low attacks, loses to lowpunches as mentioned earlier.

    Trying to guard from Hai does still waste 13 frames or so, can't even guard a knee in this situation, can guard 18 frame stuff.

    So it is a guessing game on guard, but not a favorable one for lei imho.
