I've just posted a Kage article from Arcadia issue 90 has been posted on the wiki. Thanks to nin for the source and translation.

The article is a list of TFT combos suited by character. Certainly a couple of new ones I hadn't known about before!

It's a Japanese Arcade magazine released monthly. If you have a Japanese book store local to you (such as Kinokuniya), you might find it there. I think you can also order it online if you're able to navigate Japanese websites (some may or may not have English assistance).

And the magazine, of course, is in Japanese. VF5, if it's even mentioned in that month's issue, usually only takes up a few pages. Definitely not worth the purchase if you can't read Japanese and are only interested in VF, IMO.

    Too right!

The advertised price of 690 yen should come to about $6.60 AUD (or $5.90 USD). Play-asia is selling it for $14.50 AUD (or $12.90 USD). I can understand wanting to make a profit, but more than double the mark up is a bit rich!

If you time a 6K+G after TFT just right (right before your opponent hits the ground) you can get 72 damage and I find it's way easier to do than those combos and it nets more damage.

I set the CPU techroll/recovery speed to fastest and it still works.

The other combos are usefull for ringouts and wallcombos but normally this seems like a better option. or not?

That combo is never guaranteed. I'm surprised that the CPU is able to TR, since it always did on the PS3 version. I doubt they changed it in Version C. I'll test it soon enough.

Even if the TR/QR isn't perfect the damage is reduced to less than 50 points (i forgot the exact number). With a perfect TR/QR your TFT will be rendered to ZERO points.

I only try this against people who have never seen it or have trouble TRing. This is the entire "set-up:" TFT > 6K+G > light down attack. You can even add a 6K after 6K+G for 96 total dmg.
You can also do TFT > 9K+G > light down attack for 88 dmg.

Remember, these are only set-ups and not true combo TFT combos.

why is it not guaranteed? the 6k+g hits your opponent just before they hit the ground. So before they can techroll.

If you do it at that timing it won't be 76 points of damage. You get 40 points from the ground hit itself and then the damage from the 6K+G adds up to 76 points.

The timing of the 6K+G is delayed slightly to get the 40 points ground hit. But this is also the exact moment the opponent can TR.

Nah, if you do it too early you only get the damage from the 6k+g, if you do it too late the opponent gets 40 and is able to techroll (or nothing if his techroll is perfect). but if you do it JUST at the right time so your 6+g hits him just a couple frames before he hits the ground you get 72 without him being able to techroll.

I maybe wrong about this, I don't know much about this game but this is what I get from the dojo mode. Could this be an error of the dojo mode then? I remember someone talking about something being counted as a combo in the dojo but actually being escapable.

It could be an error on the Dojo for the 360 version, because the CPU dummy for the PS3 dojo would always escape it like most people I've played against who know about it.

I haven't seen Japanese people try this from the youtube videos I see. If it's guaranteed now they'll be crazy not to do it.

I mentioned the 6k+g thing after TFT in 'Matching Making' when I was in Osaka. The top kages there were using this combos against lower dans opponents but never against strong opponents cos if opponents manage to TR/QR, they will be stuck in the 6k+g animation open for guaranteed attacks.

If its REALLY guaranteed, it's really damn hard to get the right timing.

I see, hmm. The dojo mode says it's guaranteed but yea I remember another situation where even though the dojo said it was, it wasnt.

But the way I tried it really has the 6k+g connect before the opponent hits the ground (ugh im repeating myself sorry) so I can't see how you can techroll out of it but who am I lol.

You mentioned that you set the CPU to techroll in training mode and still manage to pull it off for 72 points. Could you do all of us a favour by doing a vid? I would definately practise to get that specific timing if its guaranteed! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

I feel like such an idiot. You guys were right, I was wrong. I set the CPU to techroll but I didnt see the option that said EXACT recovery lol.

Now Imma go stay silent on the dojo parts of this board.
