Just watched Vol.2 today and it was awesome. The second half really completes the story. There was plenty of action, Tarantino style dialogue, a good plot and lots of humour (all packed in 2 hours). It's definitely one of the best movies i've seen in a long time. Go see it if you haven't guys! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The Bride vs. Elle fight was awesome. Although it wasn't as flashy as other choreographed martial arts fights it had alot of impact. The quick cuts between hits made it fast and chaotic. There didn't seem to be a time where anyone was clearly dominating the fight - the typical flow of a martial arts fight scene wasn't there - but the random hits made it really fun to watch. The sound effects added to that fight in my opinion. Each hit seemed like it had some real, brutal force behind it. The end to the fight was very fitting - you could see it coming as they clashed swords and in a sick way it added to the humour/irony of the fight.

Sorry, Kill Bill Vol. 2 sucked imo. I expected it to be like the first one with lots of fresh moments, but it turned out to be a typical Tarantino snoozer.... I was more interested when I watched the trailers for other movies than when I sat through the grueling hours of kill bill vol 2.

    i liked kill bill 2
while the action was nowhere near the first movies intensity, it counter balanced with excellent dialogue - which is usually the meat and potatoes of tarantino films. So essentially for tarantino -

the first movie lacked dialogue, but made up for it in action
the 2ndmovie lacked action, but was made up for in dialogue -

considering this was originally supposed to be one big movie it balances out /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I liked the movie, but the final battle didn't really do anything for me. Almost everything else was great though.

Tarantino mentioned yet another sequel in a recent interview. He wants to make it about 15 years from now.

from what i heard it's supposedly going to be 20-30 years after the second one and will feature Cottonmouth's daughter and Black Mamba's daughter. and i also heard it might be animated. but none of this is confirmed, just things i've neard from my netfreak, rumour-mongering friends.

it's not a "sequel" in that there will be a Kill Bill vol 3. he actually said that he was "thinking" about two "features".. one of the story of Bill, one of the story of Nikki (copperhead's daughter). this was all in a very reliable UK magazine called Empire, and you can read the story on their website here.

for me personally i liked it. some of the scenes were a bit weak, i think, such as the wedding scene.. but also some scenes were awesome, like pretty much the whole Budd chapter.

will be interesting to watch them both back to back! /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I enjoyed Kill Bill 2. The only things I didn't like about it were:

-The end "fight". What was up with that? I was all geared up for a long samurai sword fight. It's Bill for god sakes! The exploding heart technique was cool though. Very Fist of the North Star.

    - Like Onny said, the wedding sequence was a little blah

I enjoyed it also but thought the end was complete pants. The whole section in Bill's place with the daughter and truth drug was too fluffy and nice. I was hoping for a suitably violent end for evil Bill but instead had to endure 20 mins of him philosophising and justifying his acts like he was at a therapy session.

Also, the five point exploding heart technique was utter shite. Give me a violent bloody sword fight over that any day.

Thought the film was very enjoyable up to that point, mind.

Heh, I thought The Bride's fight with Bill was much, much, longer than those two or so minutes, but maybe it's because I'm thinking beyond the actual physical confrontation. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I really thought KB v.2 was a nice complement to v.1. There was a lot of great dialogue, in contrast to the crazy violence from v.1. In a way, the movie felt grittier in v.2.

V.2 had more of a Western feel to me than the kung-fu/blaxploitation vibe from v.1, but maybe it's just me.

I have to agree though, Pai Mei stole the show. ^_^

Pai Mei did steal the show. Even my gf who hates kung fu movies thought it was a really cool scene and liked it.

I have never thought of Kill Bill as two movies, really, since I knew going into Vol. 1 that Tarantino had intended for it to be ONE film, but it was too long for one sitting.

To me, it's not about whether part one was better than part two, but rather, how was "Kill Bill" as a whole movie.

Personally, I think it was near perfection, and though I could nitpick a few little things, the movie as a whole was masterfully done, and I love it to death.

    Thanks, Quentin. ^_^

I love KILL BILL im 14 and i noticed that You like the part were Beatrix fights Elle well i loved that part i love the whole damn movie, but it did make some mistakes for Example:
1.The part were Beatrix took that metal off the T.V. to smack Elle with it Beatrix knocks off a GREEN BOTTLE from the T.V but then, when the camrea went back to a wide shot the GREEN BOTTLE is back on the TV

Loved Vol. 1. Loved Vol 2. Loved it as a single movie and still do /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Still have the bg music from the "fluffy" mother/daughter montage stuck in my head.

And on the ending: "She didn't just break Bill's heart, she...."

P.S. The answer is not "Pez dispensor" /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
