    Hi folks...
last night, after burning the midnight oil doing my ASS-ignment~

I wanted to go sleep but my nasty habit kicked it
(always surf VF stuff b4 i go snore)

    So...I went to Kyasao's online journal n this is a translated version~

    *my trip to Korea*

Last nov, my old friend cyc Aoi rang me up

    Cyc : kyasao..wanna go korea?
    Kyasao: impossible, no $$$
Cyc : how abt I arrange something? still wanna come?
    kyasao : hmmmm hmmmmmm

    some time later

Kyasao : hey, it's me...I have news..my passport is expired yo!
    Cyc : RENEW!
    Kyasao : on my way

Kyasao gets his passport 2 days before depature for Korea.

(for those who are interested, b4 the trip to korea, all he mentioned was ' hmm korea..lotsa yummy food waiting for me') ^0^...yes his website is famous..prolly more famous than other player's website...but predominantly, lotsa ppl love reading his lunch n dinner description...he always tell what he has for fudd, where, how much..give stars on how yummy it is~

    So anyway!

    Kyasao arrives in Korea

    first thing he noticed was

a)CHEAP! one game in korea = 5 games in Japan! PLZ GO TO KOREA N PLAY!

b)cheap=constant challengers= Kyasao has lotsa consecutive KOs ^0^

C)He noticed how Korea's ver A evo brad n van has different costume. He was like ' oh wow...brad has aloha shirt!' ^0^ (beyond any doubt now, brad is gey!!!!!>.<)

    D) new VF.net-less culture!

Actuallly, it's not new. Lotsa other places do it too. But it's the first time he's seen it.

U see, with VF.net in Japan, u can tell who is on the opposite machine. But without VF.net, u cannot tell who's on the opposite machine in a vs cab. So koreans (not just them, us aussies n other folks) have to resort to juming up to see who was on the other side. ^0^

He found the whole thing very amusing in a good way.
    " new bacha culture!' kekekeke~

Those of u who don't have vs cab at ur arcade, u're missing out!!!! It's fun!

Anyway...part 2 of the report coming soon

He's gonna do it in chronological order....~~~

You can also check Famitsu.com. There is a section run by Sasaki MK2, and she posted the interview with Kyasao, Ohsu, and Homestay. The first one was posted yesterday, and the second one today, and the third one will be posted sometimes soon.
The only place where they mentioned American VF players (including ice-9) is when they were talking about Open 20 minute Kumite. Homstay, and some other were playing again people for 20 min, and Homestay got prizes for most wins and most matches (i.e. he had most matches in 20 min.) Jeff (They refer to him as "Singaporian" )got one for fewest matches. And they said one American got one for most losses.
The interviews contain more about Korean VF plays than what Kyasao has on his board. The kind of stuff he wrote is, "Oh, Korean girls are very good looking! They are exactly my type except for their small breast..." Then, he goes on talking about what he thinks the average breast size of Korean girls is, etc, etc. And not much about VF as he knew that Sasaki would post the interviews on the site.

The 3rd part of Sasaki's Famitsu.com report is up and I'd like to share an excerpt from it. As a disclaimer, I'm nowhere near fluent in Japanese. /versus/images/icons/tongue.gif

    Introduction to Florida's VF scene!

Ohsu: When we were drinking at that Korean person's house, him, the American (blonde_one) and myself talked somehow (Laughs). It was super interesting. During the conversation, we talked about the Florida Virtua scene. It seems that there are only 3-4 regular players.

    Sasaki: Seriously?

Ohsu: Yeah, and they play on Version C. The place with Evo takes 3 hours to get to from Orlando by plane. (Note: I think he understood this wrong somehow or maybe I have....It took maybe 45 minutes by car to get to Rocky's) So, 2-3 people spend 3 hours to go there, play until they're tired and go home.

    Kyasao: Seriously (Laughs)!?

Ohsu: Rights, and it takes3 hours to go home and they do it.

Sasaki: They do that (laughs). Amazing.

Ohsu: They really like VF. When the Americans came to Korea, they played 12 hours in 1 day. During their 10 day stay, they played 12hrs/day.

Kyasao: They were there 3 days before I arrived in Korea so in a 10 day span, they must have been soaked in VF.

    Sasaki: Amazing

Kyasao: All throughout their stay they always video taped stuff.

    (skip some irrelevant stuff)

Kyasao: Oh there was also a Singaporean named Jeff (ice-9). He has come to Japan a number of times.

    Sasaki: eeh

Kyasao: It seems like he came to Shibuya Sega Hightech Land 3 times and I never encountered him (laughs).

    Sasaki: Ah, that's unfortunate.

Kyasao: He said that in my journal I always write that I'm in Shibuya but when he went I wasn't there (laughs).

Sasaki: (not sure how to translate this) oooh

Kyasao: Jeff said he's coming to Kakutou Shin Seiki II (Japan's National Evo tourney).

    Sasaki: Oh really!

Ohsu: I'd like to meet him.

    Homestay: Yes

Kyasao: Oh that's right, at the next Beat Tribe Cup, a team of 5 Koreans are coming.

    Sasaki: Oh, big news!

Kyasao: Akira Kid (They still call him that in Japan), his brother, the Korean Yoro (they're referring to the Korean Kage player), Nakojin Pai....and one more person, Kim Yonde (sp).

(skip down to where Kyasao goes off on Sega)
He basically wants Sega to try harder in foreign markets by trying to implement the card system and upgrading the versions. I believe he comments that the Evolution being played outside of Japan is very much like the test version seen in Japan.

Shou, thanks for the efforts, we're lucky to have people who can read japanese. And not just for fun articles... we'd be in the VF dark ages without some of the leet info that trickles from the east.
    So muchas gracias.
