1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. Lettuce's Blog - there is a wealth of information about the game's system in Lettuce's blog (note - this is in Japanese and is fairly technical stuff). I am hoping to use this thread to basically post updates on the things he has worked on and currently working on. H

If you check his youtube page, Lettuce is titling his videos for non-Japanese VF players.

Currently - Lettuce is currently elaborating on the different staggers.

Quick frame data information from Lettuce's Blog (goes with the youtube links that Libertine posted above) related to staggers. He distinguishes staggers caused by walls, throws, and strikes. The “wall stagger†frame information has been available for a while now; however, the staggers caused by strikes are recent - mostly a month’s worth of work gathered by Lettuce.

The frames (note that the frames listed are not the frame difference seen in the “Guard,†“Hit,†or “Counter Hit,â€) column in VFDC command lists. The frames shown in the Red Joystick Display can be reduced by joystick and button inputs. For each recognized input, 3 frames of animation is removed (also listed in the Masters Guide).

hmm the one that hit at the later active frame (the first one) had a longer sound (somewhat like guard+whiff sound) while the the second one had just a guard sound. Somewhat subtle.

I'd describe the first one as a guard+dash sound. Had to listen to it a number of times before I could notice the difference.

I notice the difference, the sound is two sounds at the same time. Its a guard sound and a whiffed move sound.

There is a discrepancy between akai's translated stagger info and this table from Lettuce's blog:
    http://blog-imgs-54-origin.fc2.com/l/e/t/lettuce1789/20120704212223005.jpg

The table rates the difficulty of recovering from each of the main types of staggers. In the section on stumbles (3rd category, I think), the image appears to state that a rear stumble is 31 green, 14 red while Akai's post says 9 green, 71 red. I assume Akai translated directly from the blog and the image is incorrect. Am I misreading it?

What's the fastest time that you can escape any of these staggers in?
