1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

Just wanted to share this thought:

Most universities I am sure have some kind of school sponsored video gamers organization. For my university it is called the Video Gamers Alliance. After announcing I was looking for some local VF competition to the 70+ members, there was (not surprisingly) a thick lack of interest. So, I am bringing my own TV and 360 console to the meetings. Yes, I will probably be the only one playing, but I know people will begin to pick it up as they see that controller being unused next to me. Who knows? Maybe I can contribute to the Soul Caliber/Tekken-to-VF turnover, and find a good training partner in the process.

I think this would be worth a try in any university environment.

    Thanks!

That's the main problem, VF it's very intimidating, and doesn't have an easier learning curve as Tekken when you first play it, but some people like to accept challenges and they will find VF a good one.

Hey, I was talking about this with a friend from here, and expect to hear some news about this idea later this year /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

It never seemed to hurt games like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport though. Mind you the shitty racing games like need for Speed etc. do sell better.

i never got the intimidating. Well, not for myself at least. One of the games BIGGEST appeals, no sorry, the gemas BIGGEST appeal to me is it's super deep system. The fact i've been playing for 5 months- give or take a half month- straight, making a point to try and put in at least an hour a day, and with that see improvement CONSTANTLY, is the games biggest draw. For real, there hasn't been a 2 week span, short of my 2 controller breadowns, where i didn't get better at the game. Then, i play someone like gentleman thief, none other, brisal, wasted wish, cozby, or DaBadSeed, and i know i haven't tapped my characters full strength or the games full strength. I look at how many whiffed attacks i throw out, and how many times i fail to put a throw escape on my evade, and how i only know Lei's frame data and not even all of it and...the part of the game others consider intimidating is the part that keeps me coming back day, after day, after day, after day. It's the depth that gives me a passion for wanting to become better than the best. There is room in this games depth to still blow everyone away. That's why its the greatest. Strange to think that some people are pushed away from the game for this.

I go to ITT Tech and I keep trying to convince them (The Game Club) to do some Virtua Fighter tournys or something but they keep insisting to try everything but that idea. They tried a Unreal Tournament and no one came to play it and now they are trying a Guitar Hero one... they are probably going to do Smash Brawl next which is a shame.. because I know some guys who said they'd love to play VF if they had the chance.
