How fast do you have to input the command for the moves?

    At maximum input speed.

One frame for each direction I think?

Wow, Sebo... such a jerk, lol. You don't need 1f per direction. You can skip directions, but I think your overall total time from getting back to forward (you have to at least hit down) has to be under 6 frames.

    it's 7 frames.

Is he even talking about PGS?

I assume all three max input speed throws have the same input time. Probably the only differences are the state of the opponent and the actual move that happens.

My guess its either that or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif hit throw.

I think I read this somewhere else on here, but a trick for the max input speed throws is to push back, drop the stick to diagonal back/down, and then push it in a straight line to the forward position as fast as you can. My assumption is moving in that diagonal line actually causes you to hit the down direction along the way... but regardless, it works really well for me, and everyone I've shown it to.

Arrogant? Don't know what I would have to be arrogant about. But I don't go around discouraging new players to the game. Good thing there are enough helpful people around here to counter-balance your cheap shots at the naivety of new players.

If the new players can't be bothered to search for stuff like Max Input, which has been covered before (perhaps repeatedly), should they not get knocked around a bit? Granted, Sebo, ya should have at least told him to go search for it too. =P

    Now play nice you two.

Assuming you're talking about the Giant Swing inputs, then there has been some indepth discussion in the past in this very Wolf forum: Giant Swing fastest input help. Had you spent a few minutes browsing the thread titles in this forum then you probably would have found the answer you needed?

Anyway, I recommend you all read this thread. It has a lot of valuable info, and hard numbers from actual testing.

    It was concluded that:
    1. you need to complete the entire command in 6 frames or less
    2. the inital /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif direction can be held indefinitely, and will only count for 1 frame.

Lyhn, you probably know this already but I 'll say it anyway.
1 you have to be using an ARCADE stick not a pad.

2 just push the stick as lightly as possible, like you would if you were doing the lightest input you can on an analog stick. You know youre doing it right when you hear the stick's microswitches click, yet the joystick isn't touching its rim. It's that simple.

Maximum input is just a good habit to learn, even if you're not doing Wolfs PGS. Maximun input even makes that piece of shit Hori stick passable, to a degree.

Using the bog standard console controllers it would seem that the best way is to dash forward first then attempt a giant swing. I could NEVER do max input, then once by total fluke i pulled one off and it was thru a forward dash.

As someone already stated when attmpting to do wolfs /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif Throw you can sometimes perform a max input speed swing

I managed to use this technique (/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif) for rolling elbows max input, i've only ever managed it once though. It may be a lot easier with a proper stick, i may purchase one. only £20 now (About 30 Euros.)

Octagonal gates are the best for putting your PGS over the top, if you end up caring that much. It doesn't matter to me now, but I have to work a bit on the square to get my half circles back.

7 frames works for me in Dojo, I swear... I was practicing it a lot and it always seemed to work 0n 6 or 7 frames.

I disagree EmX, octagonal gates are definitely not naturally better. Remember that half circles don't require diagonals in this game, so there's no particular reason you need to actually make a half-circle motion. Look at my first post... inputting 416, rather than using 41236 pretty much works perfectly, and is a technique designed for a square gate.

And just about everything else from crouch dash on up tends to benefit from the hard diagonals of a square gate in this game. I really don't thing one particular way of doing one throw is a good reason to change your stick.
