Ok, I was just playing Kumite for past couple of hours whit Akira and then about half hour before, I faced Aoi. Round started and she attacked me whit some punch move, I dodged and did DBC in her side/back from super close distance and BOOM I swear she lost over 50% or around 120p. /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif /versus/images/icons/grin.gif /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif /versus/images/icons/grin.gif I tried it since then but I coulden´t pull it off. I know that DBC should take 65 at max in ver c. Is this bug or you really can do this match damage?

I heard that the best move in the game in terms of damage was wolf's giant swing, 100 dmg. Im guessing its a bug because I wouldnt have heard so much about it...

Damn, 120? That's a lot. The most I've gotten with the DBC is 97.

The damage isn't a bug, the bodycheck has been that way since VF1. All moves do more damage if they interrupt an attack, but the bodycheck is special because it does more damage the closer you are to the enemy. It may also do a little more for hits to the enemy's side or back, or hits while they're jumping.

The most I've seen happens to be on a digital video camera, and was maybe 80 points (40% life). I can confidently say it won't do 50% or more because I think the game designers are too concerned about keeping things fair. The 80 percent example happened like this: Akira did a knee, it was blocked, and then did a bodycheck when he landed. The opponent tried something... A throw or attack, I dunno what... and the bodycheck won.

An interesting bit of trivia: In VF3 the bodycheck used to do good damage even when used in a float combo, if the hit was deep. Akira could do guard break or stumbling trip, then f,f+K, then do a really deep bodycheck. Total damage was almost exactly 50% if done right.
In vf4 that's fixed, and even a deep hit in a combo doesn't do much. It probably still will do good damage if the opponent voluntarily goes airborne (i.e. jumps).
