Just some replays against Japanese players.

MARGARIN 1 (LA) vs Myke (KA)
After bumping into MARGARIN 1 during player matches, we've since had many sessions (hours long) just challenging. Great guy! I only saved this match for the rare (for me) Shippuujin /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif hit and rare (due to lag!) DPC followup.

I can't remember who the Aoi player was, but it was an exciting match.

CrimsonMankichi (SH) vs Myke (KA)
I ran into CrimsonMankichi during ranking matches. His Shun is unbelievably strong, and he beats me quite comfortably around 8 out of 10 times. This is a rare match where everything just came together for me, and luckily so because his Shun was so drunk!

 

I don't think you should be so alarmed or critical after watching a single match. Any number of reasons can explain why we do the things we do - especially online! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

If you watched 10 matches of his play and noticed a trend of repeated low punches, then maybe you have a case. But still, it's online! And who's to say why he was doing it? Nerves? Maybe he was intentionally conditioning me?

I'm being defensive about the comment because that player obviously doesn't get a chance to speak for themselves, and they're unknowingly being scrutinised. I don't care if you criticise my play at all, btw /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

 

VF5 XBox Live Replays
These are some player matches against a Japanese Aoi player I met on Xbox Live. We've played on a few occasions which he usually dominates seemingly with little effort.

I'm not sure how well this comes across in these 4 matches, but the real strength of his Aoi play is in his G-cancelling (which is even more effective due to even the smallest amount of lag) and more importantly his use of Tenchi'Inyou. He really forced me to try to adapt by not always responding with classic nitaku of mid/throw. I had to rely on and gamble more with slower circulars, or delays (giving up my advantage!). When an Aoi player forces you to do that, they're playing Aoi the correct way, IMO.

Seta is Ogi's friend that danny13 and I had the pleasure of meeting in Japan last year. While he was still in Japan we played occasionally of XBL, and this is (unfortunately) the only match I saved.

I love Shun's psycho crusher in the 4th round! That shit still scares me today!

Might be worth noting that all (except vs Ken) matches are played on Xbox Live with 1 green bar connection (i.e. horrible) against Japanese players.

Not a spectacular match, but thought I'd cap it anyway. This Shun gets pretty drunk too. To be honest, I can't remember why I saved this match, but it was probably for the throw escaping in the 2nd round.

This match is against shubuo who is one of the strongest players I've met online. It's not uncommon for him to streak me in the double digits before I get a single win either. My mental game has to be on point every single round if I have a hope to hang with him!

This is one of the many 10th dan/Master ranking matches, this one being a tad more exciting than the others.

 

TechRomancer, my main is Kage, and my sub is Brad. For fun I also play Akira, Jacky and Lei.

Dennis, I have never played shubuo's Jacky, so I'll try to look out for it.

This is my 1-bar Akira against Margarin's Lau. He's an awesome player and we often have hour+ long sessions. I mainly saved this one to showcase his great yomi with Lau's high circular (I fucking love that move btw!) against my predictable evading. Pretty good match overall I thought.

Not exactly sure why I saved this. At the time I guess I liked Vanessa's setups in general, and the wall throw, plus I wanted to see what I did wrong (and right) against Vanessa.

From another marathon session with shubuo. What has become signature with our matches is that often we end up in these pivotal throw escape loops. You'll notice it happened in the Kage mirror match I posted earlier too. Again, I think I lucked due to lag.

I think it would have been much more entertaining fight without the lag, but that's stating the obvious. Still, this is a see-saw battle that goes down to the wire.
