Namflow (El Blaze) Video Thread

Hey all. I just subscribed to VF.NET premium so I can save my own movies and watch them in an effort to train for KS4. I feel I need to put in the extra effort of downloading my matches, watching them, and seeing what I do that works, doesn't work, what I normally fall for, etc. But who cares about that - you want vids!

Some background: This Eileen player beat me over 10 matches in a row the last time I had played her. After reading Super's translation of the Black Book and what to do against Eileen I did a lot better against her this night. (2-1 me). She was a real pain in the ass to play against, as you can see in the video she backs away A LOT. More than just a normal machi player, she spends half the fights walking backwards to the edge of the ring baiting me to chase her, even when she is at a health disadvantage. You'd think that if someone goes to the arcade they'd actually want to PLAY VF5 instead of taking a tour of the ring, but who knows. Anyways, enjoy the match, and look forward to some more matches coming soon!

 

I don't know how to use torrents but maybe I will figure that out later. Anyways, this is cool, I can't wait to see it. Thanks for posting...

 

Forgive my french, but fuck eileen and specially fuck "Genba The Director of Love Eileen"... He beat me ten straight the other day, the machi bastard... Anyway I was glad to see you take it to him...

Eileen's ARM is faster than the average (according to the black bookj) and we all know Blaze is weak at mid/long range, so I'm very proud of you taking it to him...

He's afraid to meet you in the regional tournament, very afraid!!!

just wanted to say thanks for the vid.

looks like the eileen player was waiting for you to fake roll into the water.

i think you showed good patience in the first 2 rounds in letting the eileen player come to you. i liked all the whiff jabs into throws as well. by the 4th round it looked like you were taking chances instead of just trying to wait to counter or poke your way in and bait throws but you showed your composure in the last round.

A match between me and Dusty Doll. Nothing really impressive here other than me beating Lau. I hate Lau. Ever since I lost to ScrubLau at the first MAGFest VF4 tourney. Ugh... I tried using Blaze's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif to interrupt his high strings hoping for a MC but with little luck. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif Also, Blaze's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif seems to be guaranteed after blocking Lau's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/ub.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif.

I made a few mistakes such as not attacking after hitting a DM /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, instead I just sit there holding onto /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif for dear life. ugh. Guess I got a case of the "don't attacks." The "don't attacks", as I like to call it, is when you get too defensive instead of attacking. You can't win unless you attack! But sometimes I tend to forget this. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

 

Wanted to mention the PK fake to throw but Myke beat me to it. Anyway great stuff alot more please

Me against some random 7th dan Vanessa. Not a particularly awesome match or anything but better than no new matches at all.

Does anyone actually prefer the higher quality bittorrent versions or should I just stick to the YouTube ones?

This is what happens when you accidentally hit /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif at the end of a match and overwrite your awesome replace with a match against someone without a card. Not much to say other than enjoy the scrub stomp, and the end of this match makes me happy beyond words. I could watch it 1000 times and it'd never, ever get old. suck it Lau!

 

I prefer the bigger videos via bittorrent...

After Fake Roll /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif major counters do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif... I know /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif is easier and opponents may not be likely to tech it (getting you a free quick pounce), but believe me /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif does more damage...

Also, after /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif launches, hit /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif...

Me versus an above 10th Dan Lei-Fei. I was doing decent against him but he destroyed me this fight. I saved it to watch it and see what mistakes I made, how he hit me, and what I could do better.

Round 1:
Lei loves to use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif after tech rolling. I love eating it. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif
I block Lei's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif which put him at -5. I tried a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif to gain control of the match and it failed miserable. When Lei is at a small disadvantage I should use more kicks like Blaze's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif because while at a small disadvantage Lei is more likely to use a sabaki or something to eat /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, I doubt he'd use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif or another move fast enough to beat my kicks.

Round 2:
Starting the round with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif against Lei isn't a good idea.
Got hit with Lei's new jumping low attack that staggers on high guard. This move executes slow so with practice I think you'd be able to block it on sight. Recognizing when he is in stance to execute that move would also help.
I tried Blaze's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif twice and both times it failed. Don't repeat moves that don't work!

Round 3:
Tried DM /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif (hit) -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif because opponets usually attack at disadvantage after being hit by Blaze's DM /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif to hit Blaze out of Rocket Discharge. He blocked it.

Round 4:
I should play like this more often!

Round 5:
After hitting Blaze's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif I should have thrown. I'd estimate 80% or more of the times I hit this move people simply guard to avoid a side stagger or crumple.
I tried DM /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif (hit) -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif again at the end of the round and it didn't work this time either. Again, repeating what doesn't work is bad!!!

Namflow's KS4 match at the Hokuriku regionals

This is my match at the KS4 Hokuriku regionals. It went to the 5th round where tourney nerves had me try to throw him out of the ring at a time when he wasn't gonna get thrown. Oh well, live and learn. And at least it went to the 5th round .
