The clip at tbzone is the same clip from ign and gamespot, and it is a smaller one Direct link here
nothing we haven't seen before only clearer via direct feed.

There is another clip at vfzone that 88MB, so forget it if you have a dial-up since it is the same clip as the above. Click here if you still want it.

Actually, I don't think this is the exact same clip. For one, the one I have, Goh and Brad don't have their own voices implemented yet. As well, the items shown are completely different from the first vid. Also, they show off something new for every chara in this video (except Jacky) including Akira's new [P]+[K] move, Wolf's choke slam, and a new low throw for Pai.

EDIT: http://tbzone.co.kr/news/notice.cgi?id=news&action=view&number=196 - Go there and you can see pics of the new items.

Hammerhead - very good find, thanks man. THIS is the type of evo media I'm talking about!

For anyone out there who is detered by Brad's style because of similarities with Vanessa's or whatever, you DEFINITELY should check this out....although "just another" promo trailer fashioned after the Tokyo game show version, it had me floored.

Whats the difference between the clips aside from file size? Resolution?

How to view the 90 megger.

The larger version of the movie is encoded with a weird codec. The codec can be found here:

    http://www.moonlight.co.il/download/EMpgDec20beta.zip

unzip this in C:\windows\system\ and that's all you have to do... no need to run the batch files or anything. The movie will then play.

By the way, both the small and large versions are the same, and they're nicer versions of an older, grainier release we've seen before ...

Lots of new moves, throws, etc. I'm liking kage's reverse moonsault and Wolf's new throw... looks a bit like kage's b,f+P+G except he leaps.

I have redone the 80 megger but it sucks, I'll keep working on it and then post a link.
Edit: finished a redone version to my satisfaction. Not much size reduction, but it looks pretty good. It's deinterlaced. Might chug on older systems. Come to irc if you wanna have a look. In fact, all my stuff will be available from me via irc for the time being. Hopefully I can get a host soon.

Gentlemen: Fret not -- I'm picking up a new video deck today, and placing it in a local arcade, as I've been granted permission. Now I'm rounding up people to come and be part fo the fun, as EVO is released in 24 HOURS!!!!!

Only thing that sucks is the one by my house won't have it out unil the evening, so I'm still on Ver. C for lunch. /versus/images/icons/frown.gif

    attaboy gaijin...
when you encode, don't be afraid of the giant resolutions. Bored US citizens wanna see the new stages and chars in as much detail as possible, since we prolly won't see the real thing (or even a 95% conversion... at least not for a while).

No problem, I'm glad I'm able to contribute to this great forum.

Shadowdean: As for your question, Creed is right, both of them have the same content except the larger one is in SVCD format. You pretty much have to burn it as a svcd to view it in Dvd player to see it properly. There are programs for viewing it, I just don't have the luck using any of them. I guess just follow Creed's instruction, and you'll be set.

GP: Thanks for the good new, I'll be looking forward to your clips.

Even though, Evo is only days away in Japan, it is an eternity for the fans in the States.

They also copied the mannerism of The Rock when he does an elbow drop too. Now all they have to do is give him a move where the ref gets knocked out by accident and doesn't see Wolf loose the round /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

    CreeD:
Since the source is video tape, isn't it just a waste to encode at anything higher than 320x240? I would use SVIDEO, but then I have to bring the deck home as well, which I don't want to do -- I'd like to leave it there for a few days and record other fights.

You'd know better than me, as I usually only encode rips -- I've only done a few things from tape. Anyways, if you have a preferred resolution, lemme know, although they'll be in DiVX, and filesize/quality only depends on the bitrate and other obscure settings.

Re: How to view the 90 megger.

larger screensize does matter. I dunno if you're saying the resolution of TV video doesn't exceed 320... or what. But I do know that bigger screensize makes for clearer and more detailed caps up to a point. A point beyond 320x240.

As for quality, just set the bitrate to 2000. Divx still takes shortcuts and gives you something smaller than an equivalent mpeg, and it's the only way to ensure no loss without resorting to quality-based encoding. A 100% quality encode is pretty big.

Anyway good luck. Does the cap device let you keep uncompressed .avi n the computer? You can keep the original and compare it to the compressed versions to see what settings are the least lossy.

I'm using Premiere 6, and yes, it lets me keep uncompressed Avi's, even though they're huge.

I did a test run today, and it didn't work --- sound & video are ALL screwed up. I don't know anything else it could be besides wrong settings on the VCR... need to do some research. There's unfortunately no TV there to check. /versus/images/icons/frown.gif

Is it just me or does Brad in his 2p uniform look like a tribute to Joe Higashi?

Excellent clip. I must say that Brad is looking like a very interesting fighter indeed - can't wait to play him

And btw, I love the new voice commentator. Sounds like the old VF2 voice work - much more vibrant and energetic
