Well, it had to be done before the old thread got locked, plus VF5 is so close you can almost touch it.

To commemorate the release of VF5, I'm uploading all the old match replays I have saved of VF up here and will hopefully stick them onto a dvd or two if people want...we have easily about 2 hours of footage I reckon. Relive past memories, reignite your passion for VF etc etc...

They're mostly VF4Evo but there are some great matches such as the tourney when DeLune visited and ran riot with a close final against LiMeng, the classic "Jeffahn, Mike, Ade +LM" session that's been written into the history books as a wash out, Nakura's double perfect on WackyJacky, Raynes's "come from Bath and own you" tactics, all your favourites are there and much more besides.

Well, probably not but you get the idea.

Oh to answer your question Dan, I don't have any copies of the FT music and I don't know who would tbh.

I'd like to see this for a laugh, didn't realise you guys saved footage, speaking of which didn't some matches get recorded when the london players came up, what happened to those? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I'll see what I can do tonight. Since Jeffahn had come up during the day, me, him, Mike and Ade were playing and saved some replays before you guys arrived. In fact Ade and Mike had been at mine since the day before playing.

But Jeffahn did cap stuff on his digi camcorder as I remember playing VO on it and Random had a VHS thingy I think that capped loads of footage on the other set up.

Whatever happened to that footage I have no idea lol.

Damn, I was searching for the replays last night and I couldn't find them on my card, I've a feeling that I may have deleted them a while back. Might be on a mem card I didn't check but I'll look into it over the weekend.

I've still got some good ones of Rayne, Elite, Ev2, DeLune and Limeng tho.

Here's a crappy one of me and Ade from almost 4 years ago:

There I was posting on the same old North West thread for the past couple of weeks and you've got your own one right here! Didnt realise this existed. It would be cool to get a dvd of that stuff Chris, especially if you have any of my matches from the very first meet. Have a look at the Official Playstation mag feature on vf5, I guarantee youl crack up, wont tell u why tho....

Chris, I tried PMing you but it was full. I was wondering if you could give me a rundown of what I'd need to get replays online?

Andy, has your pc got a video-in on the graphics card? If you dont know, try to find out what the card is and I can tell you.

Not sure Dan, we have 2 PCs though so one might. How would I find out what my video card is?

click on Start, right click on my computer and select properties. CLick hardware tab then click device manager. Under display adapters will be the name of your card. If the pc is old or has a cheapish card then its unlikely to have video-in.

Hi, sorry Andy, I've flushed out some PMs now, for some reason I had tonnes I didn't realise about (habe the in/out boxes merged?)

Anyway, I've no idea about how good the graphics are on my laptop but I'll tell you how I've done it:

Firstly I tried using a TV tuner/Video card. Plugs into my laptop and is supposed to accept S Video or composite sources but basically was a load of cheap crap. No software with it, had to edit stuff on windows movie maker and that's even when it decided to work for me. Then I upgraded to a proper capping tool.

It's basically a device that plugs into your comp with a USB connection and takes a composite source as it's input. Came in a package with proper editing software and all the works, think the name is Pinnacle Studio Tool or something.

Basically you plug in any composite video source into the box of tricks (which is then plugged into your comp) and use the software that came with it to capture footage from whatever your source is.

If you have a newish telly it'll prob have composite outputs on the back, so you can run a 3 way composite from the telly to the capping tool. Sadly mine doesn't...but that doesn't matter because of the SCART I have.

My PS2 SCART has 2 audio leads (Red and White to be plugged into an external source like a hi fi for better sound) PLUS on the section that plugs into the PS2 it also has a Yellow video output. I just bought an extra phono lead to run from this output to the capturing tool Video input and plugged the 2 Audio cables into the capping tool Audio inputs.

In short that means I can play a game, see it on the TV and also see it on my comp as it's being capped (with about a half second delay).

From there, the captured footage is saved to your hard drive. After you've captured footage you can edit it, cut it up, add effects, add pics to it etc etc anything you like. It's layed out in a simple simple way, you just click and drag a clip you recorded into the clipboard and mess around with it.

From there you can make files of the finished product or even burn it off onto DVD!

So for those replays I literally hooked everything up, played the replay on PS2 and recorded it onto my laptop then edited it so that all you see is the fight and no menu screens/option selecting etc...

If I really wanted to, I could have put players names above the health bars on each side, done slo mo zoomed in replays, had players pics above the characters portraits, added in sound effects when a yoho hit etc almost anything.

Obviously I just went for the basic editing option lol.

I've also put up a few combo vids and a load of other matches from players here in other games too. As long as you have space on your hard drive you can do all sorts.

It wasn't particularly cheap to begin with but it's a quality product and I've had no problems with it so far.
