Found this video on a japanese blog that seems to be showing how to use OM effectively now. Can someone who speaks better japanese than I (read: none) help explain what's going on here?

I wouldn't call this a "new use" of OM. This video is simply showing the situations where OM can be successful from disadvantage. Normally, you shouldn't OM from disadvantage due to it's inferior evasive properties to DM, but of course there are exceptions as shown. If this video demonstrates anything, though, it's that OM evasion properties are still highly susceptible to hit boxes.

Here's a transcript of what happens in each vid:

ä¸åˆ©ã‹ã‚‰ã®OM (å‰ç·¨)
-1F open stance vs P, 2P, 6P
46P+K+G Side Gd > OM vs Jacky P: success
46P+K+G Side Gd > OM vs Jacky 2P: fail
46P+K+G Side Gd > OM vs Jacky 6P: success

-1F closed stance vs P, 2P, 6P
46P+K+G Side Gd > OM vs Jacky P: success
46P+K+G Side Gd > OM vs Jacky 2P: success
46P+K+G Side Gd > OM vs Jacky 6P: success

-2F open stance vs P, 2P, 6P
66P Side Gd > OM vs Jacky P: fail
66P Side Gd > OM vs Jacky 2P: fail
66P Side Gd > OM vs Jacky 6P: success

-2F closed stance vs P, 2P, 6P
66P Side Gd > OM vs Jacky P: success
66P Side Gd > OM vs Jacky 2P: fail
66P Side Gd > OM vs Jacky 6P: success

-3F vs 6P
3K Side Grd > OM vs Jacky 6P: fail (open stance)
3K Side Grd > OM vs Jacky 6P: success (closed stance)

The first video was all versus Jacky. The second video is a follow-up showing the situations versus Lau. As you'll see, there's an inconsistency between Lau and Jacky's 2P in the -1f case.

ä¸åˆ©ã‹ã‚‰ã®OM (後編) 1
-1F vs P (closed stance)
3P NH > OM vs Lau P: success
46P+K+G Side Gd > OM vs Lau P: success

-1F vs 2P (closed stance)
3P NH > OM vs Lau 2P: fail
46P+K+G Side Gd > OM vs Lau 2P: fail
46P+K+G Side Gd > OM vs Jacky 2P: success
Notice you can OM successfully against Jacky's 2P but not Lau's!

-1F vs Elbow (closed stance)
46P+K+G Side Gd > OM vs Lau 6P: success
3P NH > OM vs Lau 6P: success

-1F vs Elbow (open stance)
46P+K+G Side Gd > OM vs Lau 6P: success
3P NH > OM vs Lau 6P: success

Cool thanks a ton man. The only reason I see using OM over DM in these select cases is that you can punish right away with P when successful. Like with eileen against Lau if I OM to him back from -4 and lau does a 6P I'll be at his side and have enough time to hit him with PP214K+G. Regular DM gives me nothing guaranteed. This is a lot easier against Jacky and even works if I'm in front of him.

It's totally hitbox dependent though and is really sensitive to slight delays.

Is it workable on Ver.A?

in some cases it is but I don't see any case where you can evade 2P using OM.
