Finally an actual battle from Evo. Anyway, its between 2 laus, it's 9megs, and goes 5 rounds. Shows a good bit of Lau's new stuff as well (especially his awesome new throws.) Here's the link:

I should mention that it's direct feed! [IMG] Though I'm sure everyone would have downloaded it anyway.

At the risk of turning this off topic (not my intention), would comparing VF4 to VF4 Evo be like comparing the original Dreamcast PSO to the GameCube PSO? [IMG]

For some reason this runs really choppy on my PC - frames missing, running slow, not in sync with the sound, etc. Anyone else have that problem? I'm wondering what the issue could be. I'm anxious to see the clip.

The sound plays fine though, and I must say I'm liking the new tunage. (^_^) There seem to be new voice samples for wall staggers and such too. Nice touch.

That was nice. Maybe I am really tired, but I thought the game was a little slower than VF4!! But before anyone says "Here we go again" (Since this seemed to happen after VF3TB on DC was released for example) I love the game already, so I am not complaining about anything.

    My comments:

    Announcer: Bad
    New moves: Nice
    Stage: Nice

It ran fine for me, audio in sync and everything.

    Triple Lei:

I think comparing VF4 to VF4 Evo would be like comparing Dreamcast PSO to Dreamcast PSO v.2. I say this because VF4 Evo just adds a few new things (new characters, new stages), just like DC PSO v.2 added a few new things. The Gamecube version is going to contain the entire Dreamcast part, plus a load of new things, more than VF4 Evo adds to the original VF4. If I need to explain more, I will be glad to. It is a little past 2 o'clock here and I have no idea how much since I am making /versus/images/icons/wink.gif .

Well, we obviously forgive you, as we know how uneducated anyone even thinking of going to Texas could be. HEhe -- despite my profile, I'm 100% Texan... just defected a few years ago.

    Well said though --
As I Stated in my intial impressions, it's like VF4 Ver. E or F. A lot of stuff is the same, and there's quite a few new properties, but there were big changes between Ver. A->B->C. Anyone ever played Ver. A? Vanessa's (and I think jacky's) Evasive attacks were Guard Breaks (IE - staggered on block)!!! Can you believe that?

Fun battle, despite being Lau vs Lau.
Quite funny how Kaeru was staggered into the wall. He was first backstagered and during the recovery from that he touched the wall causing a struggleable stagger animation, kinda wierd. AM2 might revise that in Evo B...
Lau's two new throws are interesting, now he even has a wallthrow with opponent's back to wall (1:35, seems like the wall variation of the other new one).

    The Media:
Just got done watching the clip. Pretty nice video, especially since I like Lau /versus/images/icons/grin.gif .
Question: What level are they playing on? Is it one the of the new characters' levels?

Sorry, I mean GaijinPunch, not Gainjin. /versus/images/icons/crazy.gif

Also, on a followup to the question in my second post, how many stages have been altered (changed, new time of day or season), and do the two new characters have individual stages?

Hey, the stage you saw was pai's (in the lau vs. lau match).

Lion's also got a total facelift.
Akira's got a new/old background (you see his VF3 BG out the dojo windows now).
The rest got the traditional 'day to night' 'day to sunset' 'night to day' effect, with lau getting rain during combat. Oh, dural's platform doesn't move now, zzz. Rushjob. edit: or no, wait, yes it does. It needs to crank up first. Do dural is pretty much unchanged.

Try gaijinpunch's evo reports for more info.

I didn't put much about the stages in that report, as they don't do much for me.

Jacky's has opened corners with some better graphics (it's at dusk as well, instead of night). If I remember properly, Goh's stage looks like a cross between Aoi's & Kage's (lots of cherry blossoms) and Brad's looks a lot like Lau's. They didn't put much effort into the new characters' stages. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

Fingers crossed on the step down converter...then we'll have loads of clips.

hey zerochan, I have the same problem as well, but once i got offline and played the video, everything went back to normal. maybe try to play the video offline (dont connect to the net) and maybe that would fix it.
