Next Virtua Fighter confirmed... sort of...

Just goofing around at Sega's website, looking at what's coming out (for the GameCube in this case), and I stumbled across something set in the TBA release dates.

I don't recall hearing about this anywhere, but then again, I've kind of seperated myself from game news, as I'm playing old stuff, almost exclusively.

Well, this game was supposed to be shown during the Tokyo Game Show.

It had been announced for so long, but we still didn't have any real information on this game up to now.

I f you finally go to the TGS, can you check it out?

 

Anounced almost two years ago.
Since then NOTHING.
In January when I visited Zero-chan in Japan and we were conducting intervieuws with game companies we had actually requested an intervieuw abouth this very game.
AM2 couldnt talk about it thus they gave us the Shen Mue3 intervieuw instead.
Whenever VF Quest or Outrun came up in oure questions Taku Kihara got this painfull look on his face and apologised profoundly saying he was sorry but couldnt tell us or was not alowed to tell us more.
We did hear a few minor things of the record tough.

I don't know much about it, but I think there's a chance the game's been put on hold / cancelled.
The GC's just not selling well, and a lot of companies are getting my T testy about software development for the system, which is a pity cause I like the cube.

Two freaking years? Isn't that when the GC just came out? I remember somewhere reading, "we might think of something like a VF Kids for the GC market, but..." but nothing came of it.

It does seem a bit fishy. I looked around here and saw nothing, nor on any other site... I guess b/c it's been around for so long.

GC isn't selling that bad in Japan really. I've not looked at the numbers, but it's nothing like the states. Since VF doesn't really sell well in America anyway, they're probably not considering the likely-to-bomb US/UK market.
