NYC Matches

Here is some causal matches btw me & Konjou Akira over the weekend. Since we haven't ever really posted matches before me & rodney hope you guys enjoy our little weekend practice. Sorry folks it's EVO not FT /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif.

I will try to continue to post more vids as time goes along since I do feel the same as everyone that we should share & show support for the VF community as a whole even though we don't play each other as much as we would like.

Well I told chipmonk that I would cap the vids & have it up within the same day & his eye's lighted up like a christmas tree. Besides if I'd didn't posted them I would never hear the endless whining from him. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Cruz has more vids which are FT ones as well which that mexican still hasn't cap yet. /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I watched all your Akira vids- nice.
1.I also play Akira, but i don't use cancel, could you tell me what is it for??- confu only??
2.After ShRm i use only DLC on midweights&heavies- becouse it always hits, your ,+, missed lot of times(stance dependent).
3.After i sabaki with + than+ i do DJK
4.If you block Akira's DbPm, Stp is guaranteed, isn't it??
5.There was some situations, when you wer exchanging elbows, punches, etc. why do you throw so seldom?? I only remember one or two TE, so I would throw more often.

 

Well, I myself only throw if the hits. I rarely do throw b/c it prevent's you from using your character's other techniques & it degrades your game which prevents you from developing different tactics.

I don't understand what you mean by cancel.

I think he means doing a k and then quickly pressing g to cancel it so as to force your opponent to failed evade where you can either throw or attack them. I think that's what he means, otherwise IDK what else he might have in mind.

I will try to answers your question to the best of my abilities. But first let me mention that you shouldn't really take these matches to seriously, because we were just trying to explore. These particular matches we saved not because we thought they were good matches. But because we did some things during the match to each other that made us kind of excited. Of coarse you wouldn't know what those things are by watching the clips because I am sure to everyone it looks like sloppy play. We will try to make the next set more to everyones liking.

1. ,(cancel) is used as a fake and nothing more. Like Akira_PH said some use it to try and get you to dodge and then attack immediated, because most peoples automatic reactions to hearing a successful dodge is to attack or throw. But since ,(cancel) was used the person doing it actually has the advantage. This reason is more so in FT than EVO.

2. Well nothing against Smurf, but the lazy fuck won't practice stance combos so most of the times when he sees SHRM hit he just does ,+. The scary part is you should see how much he actually gets the fucking thing to hit in closed stance when we play FT. Everyone usuallys looks around and says "Did you see that? That's not suppose to hit!" Doing stance combos should be basic routine for any Akira player, even you. If SHRM hits in open stance you should never do DLC because it's not max damage, but in close stance I can understand why you wouldn't want to take the chance to screw anything else up.

3. Well this is same as 2. Doing DJK after sabaking is fine, but it's not max damage. On lightweights and middle weights I like to do (cancel)(cancel), DLC. On heavyweights I will do 1 or 3(DJK, Single Palm Dash Elbow Combo, or (cancel),DLC) Make sure to hold forward or your 's may not hit.

4. Yes after you block Akira's DBLPLM standing single palm is guaranteed. We know.

5. Not much to say other than it's was just sloppy play, we will try to clean it up in the next batch.

well saturday may end up being a FT day. It all depends on chigger. If that doesn't work out then we will try to work something else out. I will give you the heads up. You just keep some hot water brewing for those tea bags. Just be sure to bring some milk(yea I like milk in my tea, preferable evaporation milk) and sugar. Try filtering the video and using x264 otherwise. Just shrink it down as much as possible if the quality is not there.
